We're looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer (P50) to join the Marketplace Engineering team and help build the systems that power how apps are discovered, priced, installed, and monetised at scale.\nYou'll work across the full stack - from React-based storefronts to Kotlin/Node.js backend services and AWS infrastructure - on problems that directly impact Atlassian's partner revenue and customer experience. Your work will span high-scale, commercially critical systems including app installation, pricing and licensing platforms, usage-based pricing, and the next-generation Marketplace storefront (Mosaic).\nThis is a role where your code directly touches revenue - from how partners price their apps to how customers install and pay for them. You'll operate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, collaborating with Commerce, Ecosystem, Billing, and Data Engineering teams to ship features that serve both Atlassian customers and our 1,500+ Marketplace partners.\n\nWorking at Atlassian\nAtlassians can choose where they work - whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity.\n\nDesign, develop, and operate full-stack systems across Marketplace's monetisation portfolio - building the commercial backbone that enables Atlassian's partner ecosystem to price, sell, and scale their apps globally.\nCore Responsibilities:\nBuild and ship full-stack features (React frontend + Kotlin/Node.js backend + AWS infrastructure) across Marketplace's monetisation platform\n\nDeliver capabilities across key initiatives including:\nUsage-Based Pricing - metering, reporting, and enforcement so app partners can charge customers based on actual consumption\n\nMulti-Currency Support - enabling partners to price and sell apps in local currencies globally\n\nPrivate Offers - custom pricing and terms between partners and specific enterprise customers\n\nSolutions - bundled multi-app offerings sold as a single purchase\n\nFlex Wallet - integrating Atlassian credits into the Marketplace checkout experience\n\nGlobal & Bitbucket Apps - expanding Marketplace to support new app categories and platforms\n\nCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Commerce, Billing, Ecosystem, Data Engineering) to deliver end-to-end commercial flows\n\nOwn features from design to production - including monitoring, on-call support, and incident response\n\nContribute to technical design reviews, architecture decisions, and platform reliability improvements\n\nWrite clean, well-tested code and raise the bar through code reviews and peer mentorship\n\nMust Have5-8 years of professional software engineering experience in full-stack development\n\nStrong proficiency in at least two of: Kotlin, Java, Node.js (backend) and React / TypeScript (frontend)\n\nHands-on experience with AWS services - DynamoDB, S3, SQS, EC2, or equivalent cloud infrastructure\n\nExperience building and operating distributed, high-scale systems in production\n\nSolid understanding of REST API design, microservices architecture, and event-driven systems\n\nStrong grasp of software engineering fundamentals - data structures, system design, testing, and code quality\n\nDemonstrated ability to own features end-to-end - from design through deployment and monitoring\n\nGood to HaveExperience with e-commerce, billing, pricing, or monetisation platforms\n\nFamiliarity with OAuth 2.0, licensing models, or entitlement management systems\n\nExperience working in a platform/product engineering environment with multiple downstream consumers\n\nExposure to observability tooling (Splunk, SignalFx, Datadog, or similar)\n\nPrior experience with partner/marketplace ecosystems or multi-sided platform products\n\nComfort working across cross-functional teams spanning product, commerce, and platform engineering\n\nWho You AreYou take end-to-end ownership - you care about what happens after your code ships\n\nYou communicate clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders\n\nYou're curious and pragmatic - you pick the right tool for the job, not the most complex one\n\nYou thrive in ambiguous environments and can break down large problems into deliverable slices\n\nBenefits & Perks\nAtlassian offers a wide range of perks and benefits designed to support you, your family and to help you engage with your local community.
