We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity.\nResponsibilities\nRoles Description\nThe Principal Enterprise Security Engineer serves as the senior technical authority and strategic thought leader across corporate architecture, SaaS platforms, and workforce technologies. This individual will drive the long-term vision, design controls and paved paths that safeguard corporate assets while enabling business agility and innovation at scale.\nKey Responsibilities\nStrategic Leadership:\nDefine and maintain the end to end enterprise security architecture blueprint, covering endpoint, identity, network, and data.\n\nLead the architectural reviews of major enterprise technology initiatives ( e.g., AI adoption, zero trust modernization, vendor onboarding).\n\nEstablish architectural controls, paved paths and perform periodic maturity assessments.\n\nTechnical Subject Matter Expertise (SME):\nProvide expert guidance on security best practices, technologies, and methodologies to engineering teams.\n\nArchitecture & Design:\nReview and influence the design of platform and service architectures, ensuring security is integrated from the outset.\n\nProvide risk-based architectural recommendations, influencing executive stakeholders and investment decisions.\n\nImprove org-wide productivity and safety\nAutomate control deployment and drift detection (IaC/PaC), reduce exception volume, and shorten time-to-adoption via platformized solutions.\n\nEnable safe, rapid change with CI/CD for policy/config and change planning for broad rollouts.\n\nCollaboration:\nWork closely with security teams, engineering partners, product leaders, and other principal architects to drive large-scale security initiatives.\n\nServe as the architecture liaison between Coporate Security and Product Security, ensuring a unified security strategy across enterprise and customer-facing environment.\n\nServe as a role model for engineers and mentor security practitioners across multiple seniority levels.\n\nAct as the technical mentor to security engineers across corporate domains.\n\nQualifications\nKey Skills & Experience\n10+ years in cybersecurity, with 5+ years in principal or lead architecture.\n\nCloud Security Expertise: In-depth knowledge of cloud security architecture (AWS, GCP) and SaaS ecosystems ( Google workspace, Slack, Okta, etc).\n\nDeep understanding of identity and access management, endpoint security, data protection, network segmentation and zero trust architecture.\n\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex security concepts for executives and engineers.\n\nBenefits & Perks\nAtlassian offers a wide range of perks and benefits designed to support you, your family and to help you engage with your local community.
