As a cloud service provider, we build resilience into our systems to ensure service and data availability for our customers in the event of failures in system components. However, even the best systems have to have a disaster recovery plan.\nWe're hiring a Senior Principal Technical Program Manager for Core Data Services, reporting to our Head of Technical Program Management within our Data Platform TPM team. You are a TPM with a background in Core Data and related Infrastructure.\nWhat you'll do\nUnderstand business objectives and translate them into technical systems problems to be prioritized.\n\nDefine specific systems programs and create a plan of action for realizing those programs. Such programs could be around reliability improvements and more.\n\nUse your technical understanding of Atlassian and related systems to partner with and influence engineers and architects in making progress on these problems.\n\nAddress engineering problems by prioritizing tasks, scoping out the project, defining objectives, and making progress on each of these.\n\nBe accountable for the success of these technical programs by managing the entire lifecycle from initiation to forecasting, budgeting, and scheduling.\n\nManage complex dependencies and projects with a broad scope across the company.\n\nCollaborate with functions across the company to create reliable and cost-effective disaster recovery solutions for all of Atlassian's services.\n\nQualifications\nYour background\nBS degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience\n\n12+ years experience working with software teams\n\n4+ years recent experience leading platform and software teams in a similar Technical Program Management or Technical Product Management role\n\nExperience using multiple types of Datastores including S3, DynamoDB, SQL and Elasticsearch\n\nExperience with GraphQL, Kafka, and Flink\n\nExperience leading projects spanning multiple teams and communicating with partners\n\nExperience managing risks and dependencies\n\nExperience with Agile software development processes\n\nExperience in designing and building back end software systems, including tradeoffs, launching and scaling.
