Operates with considerable latitude in performing complex technical assignments involving, but not limited to, the following:\na. Construction of new and maintenance of existing pipeline systems including selection of materials, development of procedures, compliance with applicable codes and inspection of work in progress;\nb. Evaluation of leakage survey effectiveness;\nc. Operation of pipeline system including regulation, measurement, curtailment and loss or gain of natural gas;\nd. Compliance with Federal, state and local rules and regulations;\ne. Design of system mains, regulator and meter settings and corrosion control protection.\n2. Provides input regarding the development and evaluation of the Company's operating standards.\n3. Conducts product evaluation and presents recommendations to standards committee based on product safety, economics of use and user friendliness.\n4. Reviews paperwork regarding completed jobs for accuracy and adherence to original design specifications.\n5. Provides engineering specifications, surveys and directions that are necessary for project completion on schedule and within budget.\n6. Assists in the coordination of activities between Engineering and Operations to assure the timely completion of projects.\n7. Provides specialized reports and studies as required.\n8. Determines and develops approach to solutions.\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\nEducational/Experience Level:\n1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineer-In-Training registration with a state board, and four years of professional experience in engineering, or\n2. Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program, and eight years of professional experience in engineering, or\n3. Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a non-ABET accredited program, and twelve years of professional experience in engineering.\n4. Valid driver's license.\nCommunication Skills:\nRequires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information on technical concepts to individuals without experience or knowledge of the technical area.\nNumeric Skills:\nRequires the ability to perform algebraic, trigonometric and geometric operations and/or moderately complex statistical and/or accounting methods.\nComputer Skills:\nRequires advanced knowledge of various software applications to create complex documents, reports and graphics.\nWork Conditions:\nWorks in an office environment, occasionally outdoors.\nRequires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.\nAs a Safety-Sensitive position, pre and post-employment screenings, including but not limited to drug testing as outlined by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), and motor vehicle record (MVR) background checks are required.\nAtmos Energy Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
