Our flagship product, Boiler 2.0, is a modular industrial steam heat pump designed to help manufacturers reduce operational risk, improve flexibility, and modernize steam generation over time. Rather than forcing facilities to choose between reliability and sustainability, AtmosZero enables a practical path toward future-ready steam systems that integrate with existing operations and scale with customer needs.\nAtmosZero · Loveland, Colorado (onsite) · Full-time · Engineer II/III or Senior Engineer I\nReports to: Vice President of Engineering\nWhy this role exists\nIndustrial steam runs manufacturing, and most of it still comes from combustion-based boilers. AtmosZero is developing Boiler 2.0, a modular industrial heat pump that produces steam from electricity and air. We are integrating first-of-a-kind compressor hardware into a 1 MW product while moving through procurement, fabrication, assembly, installation, and test. This role owns the mechanical details and interfaces that make the compressor package reliable, serviceable, and repeatable.\nLevel and scope\nWe are hiring into this role at whichever of three levels best matches the scope, independence, and judgment demonstrated through the interview process. Apply once and we will place you.\nEngineer II. Independently manage defined mechanical projects or portions of the product, turning established requirements into released designs and supporting hardware through fabrication, assembly, and test.\nEngineer III. Own significant subsystems or design work packages, manage interfaces and ambiguity, and deliver outcomes with limited supervision.\nSenior Engineer I. Lead complex mechanical initiatives through ambiguity, mentor teammates, and influence cross-functional decisions from architecture and trade studies through validation and production readiness.\nIf you are between levels or arrived at this expertise through an unusual route, apply anyway.\nWhat you will do\nOwn mechanical integration of the compressor and high-speed rotating assembly into the 1 MW product.\nDevelop and maintain compressor-package models, drawings, interface definitions, bills of material, and installation requirements.\nCoordinate bearings, seals, shafts, housings, motors, instrumentation, mounting, piping connections, alignment, guarding, and service access.\nSupport compressor procurement, supplier reviews, fabrication, assembly, installation, commissioning, and testing.\nDiagnose mechanical and interface issues with the Turbomachinery Engineer, suppliers, technicians, test engineers, and external specialists.\nCreate and close compressor-related ECOs, drawing revisions, deviations, and configuration-control records.\nTranslate first-of-a-kind learning into manufacturable, reliable, and serviceable production designs.\nLead or support tolerance analysis, rotor-package interface reviews, DFMEA, technical risk reduction, and supplier qualification.\nWhat success looks like in your first year\nIn the first 90 days, understand the compressor architecture and interfaces and take ownership of a defined compressor-integration work package.\nBy six months, resolve hardware or test issues and release the resulting drawings, interface updates, and ECOs.\nBy twelve months, deliver a validated compressor-package improvement incorporated into the production-intent 1 MW design.\nWhat we need from you\nBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, with experience appropriate to the level at which you are hired.\nStrong mechanical design fundamentals involving precision assemblies, fits and tolerances, materials, fasteners, load paths, thermal growth, vibration, and equipment integration.\nExperience taking complex mechanical hardware from requirements through release, fabrication, assembly, test, and troubleshooting.\nExperience with production-quality CAD, drawings, BOMs, interface-control documentation, and engineering changes.\nAbility to perform or review calculations for loads, alignment, deflection, thermal expansion, tolerance stack-up, and component sizing.\nAbility to work directly with suppliers, fabricators, technicians, and test teams to turn incomplete inputs into controlled engineering decisions.\nWhat would help\nExperience with compressors, pumps, turbomachinery, rotating equipment, bearings, seals, motors, or other high-speed mechanical equipment.\nExperience with compressor skids, pressure-boundary interfaces, lubrication systems, vibration instrumentation, alignment, or rotor-support hardware.\nExperience with SolidWorks and PDM-controlled release, large assemblies, GD&T, DFMEA, supplier qualification, or prototype builds.\nExperience with industrial heat pumps, refrigeration, steam systems, or packaged industrial equipment.\nCompensation and benefits\nBase salary range:\nEngineer II [$105,000 - $150,000]\nEngineer III [$110,00 - $165,000]\nSenior Engineer I [$125,000-$180,000]\nWhere an offer lands within a range depends on experience, demonstrated capability, and interview performance.\nEquity: Stock option grant\nBenefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage; retirement plan; paid time off and holidays; parental leave.","description_format":"text","description_chars":5212,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Equity","Parental leave","Retirement plans"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Energy Management","HVAC & Refrigeration"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-20T01:06:36Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"US","licensed_sponsor":true,"adverts_offering_sponsorship_24m":0,"sanctioned_now":false,"evidence":"Filed H-1B visas in the last two years","filings_12m":0,"filings_prev_12m":3,"green_card_filings_12m":0,"median_offered_wage_usd":null,"route":null,"cap_exempt":false,"checked_at":"2026-11-06T22:30:08+00:00","sources":["US Department of Labor: LCA disclosure data (H-1B, H-1B1, E-3)"],"filings_for_role_12m":0}],"liveness":{"score":67,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":1,"p_active":0.742,"p_room":0.9,"age_days":20,"expected_fill_days":30,"reasons":["conf:2","win:mid"],"computed_at":"2026-11-06T05:58:05Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":150000,"is_top_pay":true},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/atmoszero-mechanical-engineer-compressor","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/atmoszero-mechanical-engineer-compressor.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-11-07T02:04:34Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":4999,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-11-08T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":670365},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=670365"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fatmoszero-mechanical-engineer-compressor"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fatmoszero-mechanical-engineer-compressor"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fatmoszero-mechanical-engineer-compressor"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/atmoszero-mechanical-engineer-compressor\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fatmoszero-mechanical-engineer-compressor"}],"agent":{"mcp":"https://alion.io/mcp/jobs","mcp_open":"https://alion.io/mcp/open","next":[{"tool":"get_job","arguments":{"id":2888643}},{"tool":"search_jobs","arguments":{"company":"atmoszero.energy","detail":"compact"}},{"tool":"match_people","arguments":{"job_id":2888643},"note":"people open to offers who fit this vacancy"}],"note":"The same data through MCP tools: https://alion.io/mcp/open needs no sign-in (compact searches, postings, people);
