AtmosZero is seeking a hands-on Test Engineering Technician to support testing across our Prototype, Pilot, and 1 MW systems. This role is a blend of mechanical work, basic electrical and instrumentation work, test execution, troubleshooting, and facility support. Over time, the right person will grow into independently operating test stands and supporting compressor, system, and manufacturing end-of-line testing.\nIn this role, you will be responsible for\nProvide hands-on mechanical and electrical support for testing across Prototype, Pilot, and 1 MW systems.\nSet up test equipment, piping, instrumentation, sensors, wiring, and data-acquisition hardware under established engineering direction.\nExecute test procedures, monitor equipment, collect and record data, and maintain accurate test logs and equipment records.\nTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and facility issues and work with engineers to implement corrective actions.\nSupport upgrades to the test facility required for initial 1 MW testing, including installation, checkout, and maintenance of test infrastructure.\nBuild, modify, commission, maintain, and operate compressor and system test stands.\nMaintain a safe, clean, organized, and test-ready work area; follow all safety, PPE, lockout/tagout, and operating procedures.\nWrite, refine, and maintain test procedures, maintenance instructions, checklists, and work instructions.\nProvide practical feedback to engineers on test setup, equipment serviceability, recurring failures, and opportunities to improve test execution.\nProgress toward independently running defined tests with limited engineering oversight and supporting future manufacturing end-of-line testing.\nRequired qualifications\nDemonstrated hands-on experience as a test, engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, field-service, or industrial technician.\nMechanical aptitude and experience assembling, modifying, maintaining, or troubleshooting equipment, piping, pumps, valves, or comparable hardware.\nBasic electrical aptitude, including safe use of a multimeter and experience with sensors, wiring, panels, or instrumentation.\nAbility to read and work from mechanical drawings, schematics, procedures, and bills of materials.\nExperience using hand tools, power tools, and basic measurement equipment safely and correctly.\nAbility to follow written procedures, record test results accurately, and communicate observations clearly to engineers and technicians.\nComfort working with prototype equipment and incomplete information while maintaining safe work practices.\nAuthorization to work in the U.S.\nPreferred qualifications\nExperience operating or supporting industrial test stands, process equipment, refrigeration systems, heat pumps, compressors, boilers, or similar equipment.\nExperience installing and troubleshooting instrumentation such as pressure, temperature, flow, vibration, or electrical sensors.\nExperience with data-acquisition systems, PLC-controlled equipment, or basic controls troubleshooting.\nExperience with pressure, leak, vacuum, hydrostatic, or performance testing.\nExperience building or upgrading test facilities, utility systems, or laboratory infrastructure.\nEPA 608, electrical, HVAC, welding, pipefitting, instrumentation, or other relevant trade certification.\nExperience in a prototype, R&D, low-volume manufacturing, or new-product-introduction environment.\nAssociate degree, trade certification, or equivalent demonstrated hands-on experience.\nPhysical requirements\nStand, bend, reach, climb, and perform hands-on work for extended periods.\nLift and carry up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally with assistance or lifting aids.\nWork around industrial equipment, pressurized systems, electrical equipment, and active test facilities.\nUse required PPE and follow established safety procedures, including lockout/tagout where applicable.\nCompensation and benefits\nHourly pay range: [$35.00 - $45.00 per hour;
