The harder problem is keeping that precision in a dynamic environment.\nThe Role\nWe use cold-atom interferometry to build quantum sensors that measure gravity, acceleration and rotation. The scientific challenge is not only achieving precision under controlled conditions, but preserving it when the sensor has to operate in a dynamic environment.\nAs a Quantum Engineer (Field Deployment), you will play a critical role in field deployment of our Quantum Gravimeters, improve atom-interferometry-based sensors, miniaturize the underlying systems and work through the technical constraints that appear as the technology moves toward real-world use.\nYou will work closely with electronics, mechanical and software engineers while retaining meaningful ownership of your experimental work and research direction.\nWhat You Will Do\nConduct field trials of atom-interferometry based Quantum Gravimeters, supporting on-site setup and troubleshooting\nRun experimental work to improve the performance and miniaturization of sensor systems.\nWork with electronics, mechanical and software engineers to integrate the wider system.\nInvestigate technical constraints that emerge as the sensor moves from controlled experiments into dynamic, real-world environments.\nContribute to intellectual property and patent development arising from your research.\nWhat We Are Looking For\nMaster degree or PhD in Physics with research experience in cold-atom physics.\nStrong experimental capability and confidence working hands-on with complex laboratory systems.\nAbility to take ownership of research while working effectively with an interdisciplinary engineering team.\nAuthorization to work in the United States.\nEven Better If\nPrior experience in atom interferometry.\nExperience building an atom-interferometry-based gravimeter, accelerometer or gyroscope.\nExperience building near-IR lasers, laser-locking systems or RF electronics.\nExperience with theoretical simulation of atomic systems.\nExperience developing control systems using FPGA hardware.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nYou will conduct field testing of our atom-interferometry sensors, improve the system and work alongside the wider engineering team to keep deployed systems performing reliably.
