Our mission is to revolutionize the food industry by creating innovative robotic solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. We are passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology to deliver cutting-edge products that meet the evolving needs of our clients.\nAbout the Role\nBuild the software platform that connects kitchen teams, cloud services, and robotic production systems. As a Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will own significant product and technical areas from definition through production. You will work across frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, integrations, and robot-adjacent interfaces. You will partner closely with product, culinary, operations, robotics, firmware and mechanical teams to turn ambiguous operational problems into reliable software. \nWe are looking for someone who remains deeply hands-on while providing technical leadership like shaping architecture, raising engineering quality, mentoring others, and helping the Los Angeles team scale.\nWhat you'll do\nOwn and deliver complex full-stack initiatives spanning user interfaces, backend services, cloud infrastructure, and external integrations.\nLead technical design and architecture for new capabilities, balancing speed, reliability, maintainability, and operational simplicity.\nPartner directly with product, culinary, and operations teams to understand workflows, clarify requirements, and define pragmatic solutions.\nBuild software for configuring, observing, and managing kitchen operations, including order intake, menus, recipes, tasks, alerts, and performance visibility.\nIntegrate with delivery and commerce platforms to receive orders, synchronize menus, and communicate order state.\nCreate and integrate operator-facing and robot-adjacent interfaces used in physical production environments.\nWork alongside with firmware and robotics engineers to ensure cohesive system functionality\nOwn projects through rollout and production support, including testing, observability, incident diagnosis, and iterative improvement.\nSet a strong example through design reviews, code reviews, technical documentation, and thoughtful engineering tradeoffs.\nMentor engineers, improve development practices, and help establish the technical culture and standards of the Los Angeles team.\nContribute to hiring and technical calibration as the team grows.\nWhat we are looking for\n10+ years of strong software engineering experience, including ownership of complex systems or initiatives across multiple components.\nDemonstrated ability to lead technical design and execution in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.\nDeep experience in at least one backend language; Go experience is valuable but not required.\nStrong frontend engineering skills with modern TypeScript frameworks; Vue experience is helpful but not required.\nExperience designing APIs, services, data models, and asynchronous or event-driven workflows.\nStrong product judgment and the ability to translate real operational problems into simple, usable software.\nA track record of improving architecture, reliability, testing, observability, or developer productivity.\nClear written and verbal communication, including design documents, technical proposals, operational playbooks, and cross-functional alignment.\nComfort working across boundaries and collaborating with both technical and non-technical partners.\nAbility to mentor other engineers and influence technical direction without relying on formal authority.\nNice To Have\nAWS services, distributed systems, databases, queues, and cross-region architectures.\nDocker, Kubernetes, Protobuf, Python, Terraform, Git, and continuous delivery systems.\nSimulation environments, mocked or simulated backend services, and integration testing.\nSQL, analytics platforms, operational dashboards, or data-intensive product development.\nSoftware that interacts with hardware, robotics, logistics, manufacturing, fulfillment, or other physical operations.\nBuilding internal tools or operational software used in high-availability, real-time environments.\n\nWhat Makes This Opportunity Different\nHigh ownership: Own meaningful product and technical areas rather than a narrow component.\nReal-world impact: Your software directly affects physical production and daily kitchen operations.\nTechnical leadership: Shape architecture, engineering standards, mentorship, and future team growth.\nCross-disciplinary work: Collaborate with robotics, hardware, culinary, operations, and product teams.\nWhy join us\nDemand for online food delivery is growing really fast! In the last 5 years, just in the US, the overall market has expanded 10X from $10B to $100B, and could expand to $500bn- $1T by 2030.\nChanging the restaurant industry: You’ll be part of a team that helps restaurants succeed in online food delivery. \nCollaborative environment: You will receive support and guidance from experienced colleagues and managers, helping you to learn, grow and achieve your goals, and you’ll work closely with other teams to ensure our customer’s success.\nWhat else you need to know\nThis role is based in our Los Angeles office.
