The main focus\nwill be mechanical system design using CAD and structural analysis\n(FEA), supported by systems modeling to substantiate the lower-level\ndecisions. System-level\ndesign responsibility is expected in this position.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS: Typical responsibilities include but\nare not limited to the following:\n- Vehicle and Product System Design and Development.\n- System physics modeling and characterization.\n- CAD system and component concept development and packaging.\n- Application of linear-static Finite Element Analysis in design\noptimization.\n- Technical drawing generation.\n- Prepare and present project status reports.\n- Test design, development, and reporting (DVP&R).\n- Project Support.\n- Support and resolve customer problems using mechanical,\nanalytical, CAE and project management skills.\n- Prepare technical specifications for use by Pratt Miller\nEngineering.\n- Develop testing methods and procedures for use by Pratt Miller\nEngineering.\n- Investigate alternative business opportunities.\n- Support manufacturing by answering questions and responding to\nECRs.\n- Investigate alternative business opportunities.\n- Present results to and take direction from external customers.\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: In addition to the responsibilities mentioned\nabove, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as\nrequired.\n- Be a team player.\n- Have great attention to detail.\n- Strong verbal and written communication skills.\n- Strong work ethic and pride in their work products.\n- Be interested in technology and learning new things.\n- US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.\nEDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:\n- Minimum 3yrs engineering employment experience.\n- BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent.\nDESIRED SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:\n- BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent.\n- Experience in parametric 3D modeling and Geometric Dimensioning and\nTolerancing.\n- Creo/NX and/or Catia\n- Strong technical writing, communication, team, and organizational\nskills.\n- US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.\n- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\n- Ability to support technicians and shop builds.\n- Operate simple hand tools, etc.\nEXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:\n- 8am-4:30pm core (minimum) work hours.\n- Project surge support and additional effort as needed to achieve\ndeadlines.\n- Some travel may be required for customer and supplier meetings,\noff-site training, off-site testing, and attendance at industry\nconferences.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\n- Work will typically be performed in a team-based office
