NCIS is the DON component with primary\nresponsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE),\ncounter-terrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters.\nNCIS not only has primary responsibility for all criminal investigative,\nCI, CT, and cyber matters within the DON, but it also has exclusive\ninvestigative jurisdiction in non-combat matters involving actual,\npotential, or suspected criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and\nsubversive activities.\nRole Overview\n- As a Network Engineer, the work you’ll do will be impactful to the\nmission of the IT Technology Development division within the NCIS\nITD organization in Quantico, VA.\n- Provide technical support and troubleshooting services for incoming\nservice incidents related to computer systems, software, and\nhardware\n- Provide end-user software and hardware troubleshooting, applies\ndiagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and\nimplement or recommend solutions\n- Identify recurring issues and notify management of patterns\n- Tests and analyzes all elements of network facilities\n- Responsibilities include providing technical assistance, addressing\ncustomer queries, and ensuring a seamless customer experience.\n- Specialists will assess and troubleshoot issues related to company\nproducts/services, offer step-by-step guidance, and escalate complex\nproblems to the appropriate department\n- Monitors and controls the performance and status of network\nresources on multiple enclaves utilizing software and hardware tools\n- Identifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting network\nperformance\n- Analyzes network performance, usage, traffic flows, access, and\ninterfaces\n- Provides technical planning and analysis for communication\nactivities including designing, integrating, installing,\ntroubleshooting, repairing, testing, monitoring, reporting,\ndocumenting, working with appropriate vendors, and performing\npreventative maintenance services\n- Performs testing, provisioning, operations and emergency response\nfor ongoing network operations\n- Oversees and manages the deployment of upgrades to existing data,\nvideo, and related systems in a multi-location environment\n- Ensures all required operational and support documents are current\n- Maintains a current understanding of emerging technologies and\ntrends in online media, cloud service, storage solutions, and other\ndata center technologies\n-\nKey Responsibilities\nN/A\nRequirements:\nOur Network Engineer must have:\n- Security Clearance Level: Active TS/SCI clearance\n- Required Experience: 8+ years of network experience; with 3 years of\nspecialized networking experience\n- Experience with engineering data center and IP backbone networks in\na multi-vendor, multiprotocol environment, including networks based\non T1, DS3, Fiber/Optical, DSL, Ethernet, and Ethernet over Copper\ncore.\n- Experience with the following protocols, BGP, OSPF, vDC, vPC, VRF’s,\nSpanning-Tree, VLANs, 802.1q, QoS, Cisco ASA with Active/Active\nMultiple Contexts\n- Firewall Experience Required- Cisco ASA 5500X, Juniper SRX,\nForcepoint SW\n- Expert level configuration of Cisco routers and switches including:\n4500/6500, 3750, 3850, and ASR 1000\n- Nexus 2K/5K/7K/9K Data Center Experience\n- Experience with configuration and management of firewalls; Cisco\nFirepower, Palo Alto, Forcepoint Sidewinder, and Juniper\n- Familiar with NTP /MAB/F5 Deployment\n- Experience with Network Management Apps - Cisco ACS/ISE, Cisco\nPrime, SolarWinds\n- Required Certifications: Security+ CE, CCNP or CISSP\n- Education: Bachelors Degree in IT, Computer Science or Technical\ndiscipline.\n- Location: Onsite at Quantico, VA\n- Shift Options:\n- Shift 1: Monday + Tuesday 5:00pm to 1:30am EST;
