Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have\nleft the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days\nconsecutively in the last 3 years.\nJob Description: The Senior Cloud / AI Developer designs, develops, and\nmaintains Java-based, cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform\n(GCP) that support image-based business workflows. This role builds\nsecure, scalable services for capturing, processing, storing, and\ndistributing images for use both within the organization and with\nexternal partners. The position collaborates closely with DevOps, QA,\nProduct Management, and security stakeholders to deliver reliable\nsolutions that meet performance, security, and compliance expectations.\nMEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:\n- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications for cloud\nenvironments, using modern engineering practices and cloud-native\npatterns.\n- Implement cloud-native solutions on GCP to support image capture,\ningestion, processing, storage, retrieval, and distribution\nworkflows.\n- Create and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless integration with\ninternal services and external partners, including versioning,\ndocumentation, and backward compatibility considerations.\n- Implement AI-enabled capabilities for use cases.\n- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues and defects in\ncloud applications, including root-cause analysis and preventative\nfixes.\n- Ensure applications meet security standards and applicable\ncompliance requirements through secure coding practices,\nIAM/authorization controls, encryption, auditing, and policy-aligned\ndata handling.\n- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code for\nrepeatable deployments and environment consistency in partnership\nwith DevOps.\n- Implement observability practices including logging, metrics,\ntracing, alerting, and operational documentation/runbooks.\n- Work closely with cross-functional teams including DevOps, QA, and\nProduct Management to plan, deliver, test, and support high-quality\nsoftware solutions.\n- Participate in architecture/design reviews, code reviews, and\ntechnical documentation; contribute to shared standards and best\npractices.\nWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED\nEducation:\n- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited\nCollege/University\n- Alternative Path: If the candidate does not possess a relevant\nfour-year degree, an additional four years of relevant work\nexperience will be required.\nRequired Skills:\n- Strong professional experience developing backend services and APIs\nin Java.\n- Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating applications\non GCP, using serverless and/or container-based approaches.\n- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, including\nauthentication/authorization patterns and integration with other\nservices.\n- Experience integrating AI capabilities into applications and\nfamiliarity with basic evaluation/monitoring concepts.\n- Knowledge of secure engineering practices, including least\nprivilege, service accounts, secrets management, encryption in\ntransit/at rest, and audit logging.\n- Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code and Git-based\ndevelopment workflows.\n- Strong troubleshooting skills for cloud applications, including\ndefect triage, performance tuning, and production support with\nobservability tools.\n- Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering,\nQA, DevOps, product, and security stakeholders.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n- Exposure to Agile methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle\n(SDLC) practices.\n- Familiarity with change/configuration management tools (for example:\nVersionOne, ServiceNow) and/or Application Lifecycle Management\n(ALM) practices.\n- Hands-on exposure to container or serverless concepts (for example:\nDocker, Kubernetes fundamentals, or managed/serverless deployments).\nRequired Experience:\n- 8+ years’ experience in technology or software development\npreferred.\nArena Technical
