Provide integration and execution support for vehicle and\ncomponent design.\nYOUR IMPACT:\n- Under supervision, perform engineering calculations, investigations,\nand tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh as well as general\nindustry engineering standards and processes.\n- Support more senior engineers in the preparation of plans, designs,\ncomputation methods, and/or reporting.\n- Responsible for a project or part of a project of limited\ncomplexity.\n- May be responsible for managing multiple projects.\n- Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support\ndisciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.\n- Provide guidance or mentorship to entry level engineers, designers,\nor technicians working on a common project.\n- Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and\nexternal customers, and outside resources concerning technical\nissues.\n- Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing\nstandards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the\nframework of company policies and procedures.\n- Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.\n- Perform and Directs preparation of layouts, drawings,\nspecifications, and bills of material.\n- Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts,\ncomponents, and materials that meet requirements.\n- Provide technical assistance for production support.\n- Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or\nwritten communication.\n- Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.\n- Create and maintain project documentation for analysis, research,\nand historical records.\n- Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model\nsystem performance and optimize designs.\n- Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering and communicate\nstatus via verbal or written communication.\n- Other duties as assigned.\n- Regular attendance is required.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\n- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with\nthree (3) or more years of related experience.\nSTANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:\n- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.\n- Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and\nrelated systems.\n- Experience with a high level CAD system.\nCORE COMPETENCIES:\n- Internal Contacts: Contact with peers and others involving\nexplanation of information (these contacts may be within or outside\ndepartment or division), and the gathering of factual information;\nmay include the communication of sensitive or confidential\ninformation.\n- External Contacts: Limited external contact to: gather information,\nanswer queries, or ask assistance.\n- Communication Skills: Read, write and comprehend simple\ninstructions, short correspondence and memos; Read and interpret\nsafety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure\nmanuals; Write routine reports, correspondence and speak effectively\nbefore both internal and external groups; Read, analyze and\ninterpret business manuals, technical procedures and/or government\nregulations: Read, analyze and interpret scientific and technical\njournals, financial reports and legal documents.\n- Decision-Making: Regularly makes decisions of responsibility,\ninvolving evaluation of information.
