support, while advancing automation, monitoring, and\nplatform engineering practices that improve reliability and efficiency\nat scale.\nEnterprise Compute and Virtualization Platform Management\n- Lead the architecture, implementation, lifecycle management, and\noperational support of Oshkosh's large-scale enterprise compute\nenvironment, including Intel-based server platforms and\nvirtualization platforms based on VMware and other hypervisors.\n- Manage server hardware standards, platform design, firmware\nstrategy, host lifecycle management, and infrastructure refresh\nplanning across the enterprise.\n- Oversee the health, performance, availability, and capacity of\nvirtualization environments, including hypervisor hosts, management\nplatforms, clusters, distributed resource scheduling, and high\navailability configurations.\n- Design and maintain resilient compute and virtualization solutions\nthat support mission-critical enterprise workloads with strong\nemphasis on uptime, recoverability, and operational consistency.\n- Partner with storage, networking, backup, security, and application\nteams to ensure end-to-end performance and reliability of hosted\nworkloads.\n- Establish and maintain operational standards for provisioning,\npatching, upgrades, host remediation, and configuration consistency\nacross the compute estate.\nInfrastructure Operations and Platform Reliability\n- Serve as a senior escalation point for complex server hardware and\nvirtualization incidents, leading root-cause analysis and\nrestoration efforts for critical platform issues.\n- Drive proactive management of system health, resource utilization,\nhardware events, performance bottlenecks, and operational risks\nacross the compute environment.\n- Lead capacity planning and performance optimization efforts for\ncompute, memory, clustering, and virtualization resources to support\ncurrent and future business demand.\n- Oversee platform resilience through design and support of\nhigh-availability, fault-tolerant, and disaster recovery aligned\ninfrastructure services.\n- Ensure enterprise operational readiness for maintenance events,\nlifecycle transitions, incident response, and business continuity\nrequirements.\nAutomation and Infrastructure-as-Code\n- Architect and maintain automated workflows using tools such as\nAnsible, Terraform, PowerCLI, and scripting languages such as\nPowerShell or Python for provisioning, configuration management,\npatching, and compliance activities.\n- Build and enhance automation for hypervisor host deployment, cluster\nconfiguration, lifecycle management, and policy enforcement.\n- Codify operational procedures and infrastructure standards into\nrepeatable, auditable automation workflows to reduce manual effort\nand improve consistency.\n- Support infrastructure change through automated validation, testing,\nand deployment processes that improve quality and reduce risk.\nVirtualization Ecosystem and Modern Platform Integration\n- Lead engineering and administration of virtualization platforms,\nincluding core hypervisor services, cluster design, host profiles,\nvirtual networking coordination, and integration with enterprise\nstorage and backup platforms.\n- Maintain deep expertise in Vmware, as well as other hypervisors and\ntechnologies that make up Oshkosh's enterprise compute portfolio.\n- Maintain familiarity with adjacent technologies supporting the\nvirtual infrastructure ecosystem, including hyperconverged\nplatforms, disaster recovery tooling, monitoring systems, VMware\nAria Operations, container platforms, and hybrid cloud extensions\nwhere applicable.\n- Maintain familiarity with public cloud compute services and how\nenterprise workloads, recovery strategies, and management practices\nmay extend into Azure, AWS, or similar environments as part of a\nbroader infrastructure portfolio.\n- Collaborate with platform, cloud, and application teams to support\nevolving infrastructure patterns, including integration with private\ncloud and container-hosting platforms where virtual infrastructure\nis foundational.\n- Provide technical leadership on modernization opportunities that\nimprove efficiency, scalability, recoverability, and operational\nsimplicity across the enterprise compute platform.\nMonitoring, Visibility, and Operational Insight\n- Maintain and enhance platform visibility through enterprise\nmonitoring, alerting, and performance analytics tools, including\nVMware Aria Operations, Grafana, and related ecosystem tooling, to\nsupport rapid issue detection and response.\n- Establish dashboards, alert thresholds, and operational reporting\nfor server hardware health, virtualization performance, resource\nconsumption, capacity trends, and availability.\n- Use telemetry, trend analysis, and platform insights to inform\ncapacity decisions, lifecycle planning, and service improvement\ninitiatives.\n- Partner with enterprise monitoring and operations teams to improve\nactionable insight across the compute and virtualization landscape.\nCollaboration and Leadership\n- Serve as a subject matter expert and technical leader for enterprise\nserver hardware and virtualization technologies.\n- Mentor junior engineers and help establish best practices for\ncompute
