Working as part of a multidisciplinary project team, you will help translate customer and regulatory requirements into robust system designs, gaining hands on exposure to the full system lifecycle-from early concept development through detailed design, integration, testing, and commissioning. This role offers the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of customer processes and technology while contributing to solutions where safety, quality, and performance are critical.\nThis position is well suited for an early career engineer who is eager to grow technical depth and systems thinking capability in a highly collaborative environment. You will be supported by experienced engineers while progressively building ownership of system requirements, technical risk mitigation, and verification activities. Through direct involvement in design reviews, analysis, proof of principle testing, and on site support, you will develop into a trusted technical contributor and subject matter expert, helping deliver innovative, compliant, and reliable systems that make a real world impact.\nSpecific Responsibilities\nDesign cam, servo, and air operated stations and to make changes to existing designs.Execute cam (drive) design.\nEnsure the design is functional, robust, and cost effective.\nInnovate and use good judgment to incorporate ATS standards and regulatory requirements.\nSet and maintain departmental goals in keeping with company objectives.\nSupport and participate in quality management program.\nCreate detail drawings, assembly drawings, bill of materials, organize release packages, and update drawings.\nParticipate in internal and customer design reviews.\nPrepare pneumatic and timing diagrams and select appropriate sensors.\nWork with suppliers to find/develop the most functional and economical solutions to design issues.\nWork under the confines of the project schedule and budget.\nProblem-solve design or detail issues and update all appropriate documentation.\nCommunicate ideas and comprehend information both verbally and in written form.\nFollow all policy and procedures to adhere to International Standardization Organization (ISO) 9001 certification requirements.\nHelp guide and mentor Level I Mechanical Engineers with the execution of their designs and projects.\nKeeps abreast of current product developments.\nFull compliance to the terms and conditions within the employee signed work from home policy.\nProvide necessary documentation and support for machinery operating manuals.\nTravel or extend workday if required.\nQualifications\nEducation\nCollege degree in mechanical engineering, technology or equivalent experience.\nExperience\nTwo to six (2-6) years of automation experience.\nProficiency in 2D AutoCAD, 3D Solid Works or similar CAD systems.\nProficient with computers, including programs such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, Microsoft Office suite, etc.\nAble to operate fax machines, copiers, printers/plotters, etc.\nProficient with inspection and measuring tools such as scales, calipers, micrometers, etc.\nJOB SPECIFICATIONS:\nThe employee may be required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.\nExert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently.\nVisual Acuity - Normal requirements for reading written instructions and computer screens.\nHearing Ability - Normal requirements for understanding verbal instructions.\nWorking Conditions - The employee is subject to a normal office environment with occasional\nexposure to high noise levels and/or physical hazards when visiting manufacturing floor.\nHEALTH, SAFETY, & ENVIRONMENTAL (HSE) REQUIREMENTS:\nAll employees have the responsibility to work in a safe manner and report any health, safety or\nenvironmental concern to their manager or supervisor in a timely manner.\nEmployee responsibilities for Health, Safety and Environment include:\nWork in compliance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures\nRefrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are\ncontrolled through lockout-tagout methods\nReport any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts\nReport defect in any equipment or protective device\nEnsure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks\nAttend all required health, safety and environmental training\nReport any accidents/incidents to supervisor\nAssist in investigating accidents/incidents\nRefrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and\nboisterous conduct.\nJoin our globally growing team at ATS Industrial Automation where we create complex automation solutions at the highest level that sustainably impact lives around the world.\nAt ATS, a publicly traded global company with a proud 40-year history, we help drive the future with our factory-wide automation solutions.
