Projects may support a broad range of industries including automotive, aerospace, transportation, energy, industrial manufacturing, life sciences, consumer products, defense, and emerging technologies. Acting as the primary customer interface, the Project Manager leads cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions safely, on schedule, and within budget.\nSpecific Responsibilities\nLead project teams to deliver contracted scope, meeting codes and standards.\nServe as main customer contact; maintain regular written and verbal communication, documenting key events and issues.\nIdentify, assess, and mitigate project risks; develop and implement risk management plans.\nPlan projects, allocate budgets for labor/materials, oversee schedules, and assign resources.\nMonitor project progress, resolve team conflicts, and track contract changes via Change Order Requests.\nManage project financials: coordinate billing, invoicing, milestone documentation, and customer approvals for payments and closure.\nPrepare accurate financial/resource forecasts and management reports.\nElevate deficiencies to department managers or Program Manager.\nFoster team morale and efficiency; mentor and lead by example.\nEnsure compliance with ATS procedures, ethical standards, and Code of Business Conduct.\nOversee health, safety, and environmental compliance; conduct hazard assessments, audits, and ensure training per matrix.\nImplement corrective measures for unsafe conditions/acts; provide supervision and instruction.\nEnsure provision and maintenance of safe equipment and PPE; enforce ARC Flash and Shock Hazard PPE requirements.\nAttend HSE Due Diligence training and support CSA pressure boundary component testing as needed.\nAdvocate for customer satisfaction; proactively address concerns and escalate as required.\nPartner with ATS account managers and assist Applications Engineering with quotations and customer interactions.\nAttend project status meetings; may report to Program Manager for larger programs.\nTrack and execute contract changes only after customer agreement.\nQualifications\nEducation:\nPost-secondary college diploma, engineering degree, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience in electrical, mechanical, controls engineering, or a related technical field.\n\nCompletion of or in the process of achieving the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.\nExperience:\nMust have experience managing automation projects in excess of $1 million with multiple disciplinary teams.\nMust have a proven track record of providing positive leadership and coordination to a multi-disciplined project design and assembly team.\nMust have acted in a leading role, preferably as a Project Manager, with a minimum of (5) five years’ experience in a variety of projects/markets on a multidiscipline team. \nMust have a practical working knowledge of robots, PLC’s, instrumentation or other machine controls packages, sensors and pneumatics. \nPreference will be given to those who possess an excellent manufacturing or process engineering background, a superior mechanical aptitude and proven trouble-shooting skills. \nAn ability to work effectively with customers according to deadlines and under pressure-filled conditions is essential. \nIn addition, must be familiar with the use of computerized word processing and computerized spreadsheets and AutoCAD or similar drawing package.\nHealth & Safety Requirements:\nAll employees have the responsibility to work in a healthy and safe manner, report any health, safety or environmental concern to their manager or supervisor in a timely manner, and participate in the safety culture of the organization.\nEmployee responsibilities for Health, Safety and Environment include:\nWork in conformance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures and compliance to legislative requirements\nRefrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods\nReport any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts, defect in any equipment or protective device, and any accidents/incidents to the supervisor\nEnsure that the required protective equipment is used for assigned tasks\nAttend all required health, safety and environmental training\nAssist in investigating accidents/incidents where applicable\nRefrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct\nJoin our team at ATS Test where we create complex automation solutions at the highest level that sustainably impact lives around the world.\nATS is an industry-leading automation solutions provider to many of the world’s most successful companies.
