When you step into a career with AT&T, you won’t just imagine the future, you’ll create it.\nKey Responsibilities\nAI Architecture & Engineering\nDesign, develop, and optimize agentic AI solutions that support software engineering and developer productivity initiatives.\nApply hands-on expertise with the NVIDIA technology stack to design and optimize enterprise AI solutions.\nDesign and optimize LLM inference architectures for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.\nBuild and enhance AI-powered automation capabilities that enable engineering teams to develop and deliver software more efficiently.\nSupport the development and evolution of Agent365, AI Gateway, and related enterprise AI governance capabilities.\nDevelop solutions that improve AI platform performance, scalability, monitoring, governance, and cost efficiency.\nTranslate complex or ambiguous business requirements into scalable, production-grade AI and machine learning architectures.\nEvaluate emerging AI technologies and determine the appropriate technical architecture, methodology, and implementation approach.\nAI Adoption & Developer Productivity\nPartner with software engineering, product, and technology teams to accelerate the adoption of AI-assisted software development practices.\nServe as a trusted technical advisor and coach, helping engineering teams improve productivity through AI-enabled development workflows.\nGuide engineering organizations in implementing AI-first development methodologies, tools, patterns, and best practices.\nDrive initiatives designed to reduce token consumption, optimize AI workloads, and maximize return on investment.\nCreate reusable frameworks, architectural patterns, documentation, and training materials to help scale successful AI adoption across the enterprise.\nEvaluate emerging AI development tools and recommend solutions aligned with enterprise technology objectives.\nEstablish metrics and communicate the impact of AI-enabled development initiatives through measurable productivity and business outcomes.\nRequired Qualifications\nPhD in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or\nMaster’s degree in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or\nBachelor’s degree in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.\nHands-on experience working with the NVIDIA AI technology stack.\nDeep technical knowledge of large language model inference.\nExperience designing and implementing production-grade AI, machine learning, or agentic AI solutions.\nExperience with AI-assisted software development tools and modern AI engineering practices.\nDemonstrated ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into scalable AI architectures.\nExperience optimizing AI solutions for performance, scalability, observability, and cost efficiency.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with AI coding and agentic development tools such as Claude Code, Windsurf, Codex, or comparable technologies.\nExperience developing enterprise AI platforms, gateways, governance solutions, or reusable AI frameworks.\nExperience implementing AI solutions across large-scale software engineering organizations.\nStrong understanding of developer productivity, AI-assisted software development workflows, and software engineering lifecycle practices.\nAbility to influence technical direction and coach engineering teams without direct management responsibility. \n\nOur Principal Member of Technical Staff jobs earn between $189,200.00 - $283,800.00 USD Annual.
