The network optimization engineer provides support to projects that involve networks, monitors/analyzes and troubleshoots multiple customer Wide Area Networks (WANs) and Local Area Network (LANs) to ensure customer traffic is optimally traversing the network, participates in correcting network configurations, and integration into existing networks to maintain optimal performance.\nDescription of Job Duties/Responsibilities:\nThis is a full-time onsite role based in the location(s) posted and is performed from the designated work location five days per week. No relocation is offered. Work to be performed at a government customer site inChantilly, VA.\nIdentifies network operations issues and solutions.\nDevelops and implements methodologies for analysis, troubleshooting, and reporting on various networks \nAnalyzes problems; creates automation to improve existing systems, data collection, and data analysis. \nApplies network process improvement practices to re-engineer methodologies and principles and network process modernization projects. \nAnalyzes the current performance of systems and networks. \nReviews user requests for upgrades or additions to the network to eliminate impact on network performance, and improve survivability, and provide feedback to the network engineers. \nUses complex network analysis tools to identify and predict problems in the network and aid in the post-mortem analysis of network anomalies. \nGenerates reports and data required by the program team to manage complex networks. \nCoordinates with operations, engineering, and network management teams. \nAnalyzes network characteristics (e.g., traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput); recommends modifications to network components. \nRequired Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph.
