This position will support Digital Solution Development, Automation, and Infrastructure Support. This position designs secure, scalable applications and guides modernization, integration, and workflow automation. The application architect collaborates with developers, engineers, security specialists, and Government stakeholders to support critical infrastructure risk analysis and resilience.\nQualifications and Education Requirements:\nA bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.\n7+ year’s experience designing enterprise application architectures and guiding development, integration, and legacy system modernization.\nExperience with cloud-native or hybrid architectures, microservices, APIs, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) integration.\nExperience planning data migration and integration with data integrity, continuity, validation, and rollback controls.\nWorking knowledge of secure application design, Zero Trust, identity and access management, and OAuth 2.0 and SAML authentication.\nAbility to translate requirements into architecture plans, interface specifications, and implementation guidance.\nExperience with agile delivery, code and design reviews, automated deployment pipelines, and lifecycle testing and evaluation.\nFamiliarity with data pipelines, ETL processes, cloud storage, and integration with enterprise analytics and visualization platforms.\nAbility to incorporate Federal security, privacy, accessibility, and ATO requirements, including FISMA, FedRAMP, and Section 508.\nExcellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills; ability to explain architecture options and trade-offs to varied audiences.\nExperience with Federal or DHS/CISA systems, geospatial or risk analytics applications, and AI/ML integration is preferred.\nMust be a US Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust clearance.\nJob Duties:\nThe Application Architect provides application design and technical guidance for CICP modernization and integration. Responsibilities include:\nAssess application architecture, data models, interfaces, and dependencies; identify technical debt, modernization opportunities, security risks, and performance limitations.\nDevelop target-state application architectures aligned with CISA enterprise architecture and DHS security requirements for scalability, resilience, and interoperability.\nDefine components, APIs, service boundaries, and integration patterns; guide developers in implementing approved designs through agile delivery.\nEvaluate cloud services and SaaS offerings; document security, governance, maintainability, performance, and cost trade-offs.\nDesign migration strategies with validation, rollback, and transition procedures to protect data integrity and maintain service continuity.\nDevelop architecture plans, interface specifications, transition roadmaps, and implementation inputs covering milestones, dependencies, resources, and testing.\nConduct design reviews covering integration, security, logging, cost, health monitoring, identity management, and enterprise interoperability.\nGuide integration with ServiceNow, Elastic, Power BI, and other enterprise services; address authentication compatibility and data exchange standards.\nCollaborate on secure data pipelines, ETL interfaces, storage, data quality checks, and integration with data lakes and analytics tools.\nDefine infrastructure requirements with CISA IT engineering and the CTO’s organization; support cloud performance and capacity planning.\nIncorporate cybersecurity, privacy, Zero Trust, FedRAMP, FISMA, and Protected Critical Infrastructure Information (PCII) controls; support ATO documentation and remediation.\nReview application code and development pipelines for architecture conformance and secure development practices; recommend corrective actions.\nDefine test criteria and support test plans, modeling, simulation, and developmental and operational testing; recommend actions for Government acceptance.\nGuide enhancements and user interface designs to meet evolving requirements, usability needs, agency branding, and Section 508 accessibility.\nDesign integration of machine learning, large language models, and other AI capabilities for workflow automation and risk analytics under approved controls.\nMaintain architecture diagrams, design decisions, workflows, and SOPs; support knowledge transfer, deployment, sustainment, and decommissioning.\nNon-Essential Functions:\nOther related duties as assigned.\nAbout Us\nAttainX, Inc. delivers technology solutions, software products, and professional services to Federal Government customers.
