Must be authorized to work in the United States.\nAttainX is seeking a Software and Database Developer IV to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Infrastructure and Risk Modeling Environment (IRME). This senior role provides software and database expertise for system assessment, requirements definition, and modernization planning. The developer evaluates existing code, integrations, data flows, and technical constraints and helps translate mission needs into feasible software capabilities.\nQualifications and Education Requirements:\nA bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field is preferred; equivalent education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.\nA minimum of 7+ years of experience in database administration, including database maintenance, performance optimization, backup and recovery, security, and data governance.\nSenior-level experience independently delivering complex software and database solutions.\nExperience with front-end, back-end, database, and hosting tools and relevant languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, C#, or SQL.\nExperience developing secure APIs, microservices, cloud applications, and enterprise integrations.\nExperience with data processing, ETL, relational or other repositories, and query or application performance optimization.\nExperience with version control, code review, automated pipelines, and unit, integration, and regression testing.\nKnowledge of secure coding, access controls, vulnerability remediation, and controlled releases.\nFederal applications, risk modeling, geospatial processing, and approved AI/ML integration experience are preferred.\nA database administration certification relevant to the supported environment, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Oracle Database Administration Certified Professional, is highly preferred.\nMust be a US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a DHS CISA IRME Public Trust clearance.\nJob Duties:\nInventory existing software, cloud components, databases, APIs, data flows, and integrations with the project and architecture teams.\nReview existing application code, data processing logic, and dependencies to identify technical debt and modernization needs.\nInvestigate performance bottlenecks, defects, and security concerns; document findings, business impacts, and potential corrective approaches.\nParticipate in stakeholder interviews and working sessions to clarify functional requirements and candidate software capabilities.\nAssess feasibility of proposed features, application refactoring, API integration, cloud changes, and reuse of existing analytical capabilities.\nPrepare technical options, effort and resource estimates, cost-benefit inputs, and risk assessments for modernization planning.\nSupport the phased modernization roadmap, milestone decisions, task sequencing, and measurable success criteria.\nMaintain traceability between user needs, proposed technical solutions, dependencies, and acceptance criteria with the Requirements Analyst.\nPrepare technical documentation, demonstrations, briefing inputs, and project status information for Government review.\nDocument existing software behavior, development processes, system changes, and troubleshooting knowledge; support transition and continuous services.\nNon-Essential Functions:\nOther related duties as assigned.\nAbout Us\nAttainX, Inc. delivers technology solutions, software products, and professional services to Federal Government customers.
