The Job

We're looking for a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to define what great infrastructure looks like at Atticus and build the platforms and tooling that help engineers ship fast without breaking things.

You'll be our second infrastructure engineer, working with Jereme to shape our technical foundations from the ground up - setting the vision, building the systems, and establishing the practices that will support Atticus for years to come.

• You'll own infrastructure as a product, serving Atticus's product engineering teams as your customers. This means:

• Shaping our infrastructure roadmap - developing a clear vision for where our infra needs to go and driving progress toward it

• Building security and operational foundations - laying the groundwork for sustainable growth

• Improving reliability - reducing MTTR, establishing SLOs, bringing rigor to how we manage outages

• Empowering product teams - you'll build the platforms and tools that let them own their systems end-to-end

This is a senior IC role reporting directly to Toby, our VP of Engineering. You'll have a major hand in shaping our infrastructure strategy - and you'll also be writing code and shipping directly. We're a 20-person engineering team, so there's no layer of abstraction between you and the work.

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years in infrastructure / SRE / platform engineering roles, with breadth across infra disciplines. We're looking for an infra generalist, not a deep specialist in one narrow area.

• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.)

• Strong software engineering fundamentals. You approach infrastructure with a builder's mindset.

• Technical breadth across infra domains: networking, security, observability, CI/CD, database operations, containerization. We don’t expect you to be an expert in everything, just knowledgeable enough to be effective on a small team without other specialists.

• Experience with consumer-facing, revenue-critical systems, though you don't need FAANG-scale experience.

We anticipate the base salary band for this role will be between $170,000 and $220,000 in addition to equity and benefits. The salary at offer will be determined by a number of factors such as candidate's experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.

Location

This job is fully remote and we're committed to empowering everyone with flexibility. Work remotely, and travel to LA (on the company dime) as needed to be with your colleagues - usually quarterly, plus offsites. We care a lot about building a great culture and we think some interactions need to happen in person, so we put a lot of thought into retreats, offsites, and other ways to gather.
