You will work across several concurrent client engagements within Atturra’s Azure migrations program, including Australian Federal Government agencies.\nThis is a hands-on role in the applications domain. You will run discovery and assessment activities, contribute to migration designs and documentation, and help delivery teams move applications through rehost, replatform, refactor and rebuild treatments, with guidance and mentoring from the Domain Lead.\nIt suits someone with a solid application development or technical analysis background who wants to grow into cloud solution architecture. Some engagements involve Protected-level systems and require an active AGSVA security clearance.\nBased in Canberra, it’s also a non-negotiable requirement to have an active AGSVA NV1 Security Clerance for the successful candidate.\nResponsibilities:\nApplication discovery & assessment\nConduct application discovery with business owners, product teams and IT, capturing architecture, dependencies, integrations, data flows and hosting.\nAssess applications for cloud readiness and recommend a migration treatment using Microsoft’s eight Cloud Adoption Framework strategies (retire, retain, rehost, replatform, refactor, rearchitect, rebuild or replace) for review by the Domain Lead.\nInterpret Azure Migrate and other discovery outputs, including dependency mapping, to inform wave planning.\nMaintain the application inventory, assessment records and treatment decisions for each client.\nDesign & documentation\nContribute to solution designs, migration plans and target-state architecture for individual applications.\nProduce and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, runbooks and cutover plans.\nHelp develop and follow Standard Operating Procedures and reusable patterns across engagements, so lessons from one client benefit the others.\nMigration & modernisation delivery\nWork with engineering squads to migrate applications into the Azure landing zone, including App Services, Azure SQL, Storage, Functions and integration services.\nSupport discovery and development for refactor, rebuild and rearchitect treatments.\nPrepare and support testing activities, including functional, performance and user acceptance testing.\nSupport cutover, hypercare and handover to operations teams.\nSecurity, governance & compliance\nApply ASD ISM, Essential Eight and PSPF requirements to application designs and migration activities.\nContribute evidence and documentation to security assessments and accreditation processes, including IRAP.\nIdentify and raise application-related risks, issues and dependencies with the Domain Lead.\nStakeholder engagement\nWork directly with client application owners, developers and vendors to gather information and coordinate activities.\nCollaborate with the Cloud Platform & Infrastructure and Networking & Security domains, Project Services and Migration Factory teams.\nCommunicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nBalance priorities across multiple concurrent client engagements, keeping the Domain Lead informed of progress and blockers.\nWorking Conditions:\nOn-site at client premises, with some flexibility depending on engagement\nOpen to Canberra / Sydney / Melbourne\nPermanent, full-time\nMust hold an active AGSVA security clearance (NV1 minimum)\nReports to the Applications Domain Lead, Azure Migrations\nWhat will make you successful in this role?\nTechnical Requirements\nMust-have:\n5+ years’ experience in application development, technical analysis or solution design, ideally on the Microsoft stack (.NET, SQL Server).\nHands-on experience with Azure application services such as App Services, Azure SQL, Storage, Functions or Logic Apps.\nWorking knowledge of cloud migration strategies (Microsoft’s 8 Rs) and how to assess an application against them.\nAbility to analyse an unfamiliar application: its architecture, dependencies, data and integrations.\nFamiliarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitLab or GitHub).\nClear technical writing and documentation skills.\nConfident engaging with client stakeholders, and able to manage your time across multiple engagements.\nDesirable:\nMicrosoft certifications such as AZ-204, AZ-104 or AZ-305.\nExposure to Azure Migrate, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or Bicep).\nAwareness of ASD ISM, Essential Eight, PSPF or IRAP, or experience in Australian Government environments.\nA tertiary qualification in software engineering, computer science or information technology.\nWhy is this an exciting opportunity?\nAtturra is one of the fastest growing ASX-listed advisory and IT solutions companies in Australia, giving you a strong foundation to fulfil your career ambitions.\nWe currently have 1400+ professionals working across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong who are using innovation to lead the way.\nThis role gives you exposure to several clients and a wide variety of applications, with direct mentoring from an experienced Domain Lead and a clear pathway towards cloud solution architecture.\nOur Cloud Business Solutions team specialises in strategy, migration, and proactive management across large enterprise and small-scale cloud deployments.
