Atwell is a privately owned company, with 2,000+ passionate team members across 75+ locations and growing!\nAtwell, LLC is a proud recipient of the following 2025 awards:\nTen consecutive years in a row as a “Best Place to Work” by Zweig Group (#11)\nRecognized as #70 in the ENR Top 500 Design Firms, ranked in every region\nRecognized in Crain's “Fast 50” as one of the fastest-growing companies (#14)\nRecognized as the 2025 ENR Design Firm of the year for the Southeastern US\nJob Description\nAbout the Position\nAs a Electrical Designer in the BESS group, you will be responsible for working with multi-disciplinary teams to primarily perform utility-scale solar BESS engineering design in a manner that provides the client with a quality deliverable that is on time and within budget.\nThe pay range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market. \nEssential Responsibilities\nCollaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to perform electrical engineering design for utility-scale BESS projects.\nPerform detailed design and prepare drawings per project & client requirements.\nSpecify and/or review equipment and components required for BESS electrical systems.\nProvide support during procurement, construction and commissioning phases of BESS projects.\nEnsure that all projects adhere to relevant industry standards, regulations, codes and best-practices.\nConduct technical reviews of BESS projects to ensure quality deliverables are produced.\nSupport BESS team by producing department standards and best-practices.\nParticipate in project meetings and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.\nMaintains high ethical and professional standards within the overall organization.\nEngaged in lifelong learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues.\nAttend safety training and follow safety rules and guidelines.\nOther responsibilities as assigned.\nMust Have\nEducation: Degree in electrical engineering technology or related experience preferred.\nExperience: 3 + years of engineering design or other relevant experience.\nPhysical design experience required.\nProficiency with AutoCAD required.\nStrong knowledge of electrical power systems required.\nPossesses effective written and oral communications skills.\nAssists with client contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments and meetings.\nMust possess strong technical verbal and technical writing skills and be able to read technical literature and engineering plans.\nMust demonstrate two-way communication to effectively work with internal staff and external clients.\nA strong written and verbal command of the English language.\nApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.\nNice to Have\nKnowledge of renewable energy, and battery storage systems preferred.\nQualifications\nDisclaimer \nWhile AI tools may support your application process, this role is built on human talent.
