Atwell is a privately owned company, with 2,000+ passionate team members across 75+ locations and growing!\nAtwell, LLC is a proud recipient of the following 2025 awards:\nTen consecutive years in a row as a “Best Place to Work” by Zweig Group (#11)\nRecognized as #70 in the ENR Top 500 Design Firms, ranked in every region\nRecognized in Crain's “Fast 50” as one of the fastest-growing companies (#14)\nRecognized as the 2025 ENR Design Firm of the year for the Southeastern US\nThis is a remote position; however, candidates must reside in Alabama and be available for occasional travel to our Alabama office and Georgia locations as needed.\nResponsibilities\nPerforms and oversees civil engineering work, focused on site design components including site layout, yard piping, paving and grading, and stormwater infrastructure\nPerforms and conceptual and preliminary design activities including site visits, fieldwork, alternatives analysis, and report preparation\nCompletes detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications for site civil aspects of residential or commercial sites\nConducts stormwater hydraulic calculations and/or modeling and incorporates into the site civil design\nPrepares and reviews technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables\nReviews contractor submittals for conformance with contract drawings and specifications\nProvides, and coordinates engineering services during construction\nServes as civil engineer for large multi-discipline projects \nQualifications \nBachelor’s degree in civil engineering required\nMinimum of 3 years of experience in civil/site development, stormwater, and permitting\nRegistration as a Professional Engineer or EIT Desired\nAbility to develop and oversee drawings for civil plans (site layout, piping, grading, drainage, and paving) from sketches\nExperience with the planning and design of layout and site design projects\nExperience with site development requirements and permitting; experience with environmental resource permits\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.
