This role will have Utility (IOUs, Municipalities, Co-Ops) project focus. Your primary responsibility will be the accurate, timely, and quality completion of Electrical Engineering scopes assigned to the team. As a P&C Team Lead, you will contribute to the development and refinement of internal processes and workflows that improve quality, consistency, and efficiency across the department. TLs are responsible for promoting, implementing, and reinforcing these processes while serving as a mentor and coach to their team. Team Leads support the professional and technical development of employees, encouraging accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. \nSalary Range: $100,000 - $165,000 / year \nThe salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market. \nThis opportunity is available to both local / in-office (Lakewood, CO) and full-time remote candidates. \nEssential Responsibilities \nUnderstands and leads detailed design of all aspects of protection and control packages to include one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, general arrangement, selection of equipment, writing of equipment specifications, project and construction cost estimates, and project scheduling\nCoordinates and analyses computer-based models and perform power system studies on utility electrical power transmission and distribution systems, including short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, motor starting, power factor, harmonic analysis, and other related studies to implement in protection and control design packages \nUnderstands how protective relay settings affects drawing implementation\nReviews equipment data sheets, manuals, and testing reports for design and approvals as needed\nSeeks opportunities for value engineering and efficiencies in design \nAs a Team Lead: \nAssigns work to and coordinates work with entry-level engineers, technicians, or administrative staff\nReviews and verifies the work of engineers, designers, drafters, and field service personnel for general quality and accuracy\nManages and supports employee development and growth through individualized development plans\nSupports business development via Seller-Doer, assists with marketing tasks, and prepares proposals as needed\nAssists with establishing and managing engineering budget and scope expectations. Prepare technical write-up for applicable change orders\nReviews submittals for conformance with client specifications and design\nProvides field assistance, troubleshooting, and observation reports\nMaintains professional understanding of all applicable Codes and Standards, and construction practices\nMaintains strong and responsive Company-Client relationships, particularly for communication pertaining to specific assignments and meeting topics\nMaintains high ethical and professional standards\nWorks additional time beyond 40 hours/week to complete projects, proposals and/or administrative functions, as required\nAttends conferences, training workshops, seminars, regular undergraduate, and graduate classes as appropriate for advancement and as required to maintain quality of work\nChecking the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel for general quality and accuracy as required\nUnderstanding and applications of applicable Codes and Standards\nAttends safety training and follow safety rules and guidelines\nOther job-related responsibilities as assigned \nMust Have \nEducation: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred\nExperience: 8+ years of relevant engineering or field experience \nLicensure: FE is required, PE is preferred\nKnowledge and familiarity with voltage distribution above 240kV, switchgear, motor control centers, and industrial instrumentation and controls\nIdeally, experience with HB Substations for datacenters\nProficiency with AutoCAD\nHigh proficiency with power system software such as DIgSILENT/PowerFactory, EasyPower, ETAP or SKM, CDEGS, and CYMCAP preferred\nProficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and standard computer software\nProven record of delivering a high standard of quality work with attention to detail\nAbility to develop staff through mentoring and coaching\nA strong command of the English language\nGood interpersonal and people skills\nApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time bas \nWorking Conditions \n\nWork Environment: \n\nWork is performed in an office setting, and some field work may be required \n\nTravel: \n\nLimited: 10 - 15% \n\nPhysical Activities: \nManagerial Responsibility: \n\nMust be able to lift 50lbs. \nTeam Member is responsible for managing their own work and schedule and the work and schedule of their team with input from supervisor and completing assigned tasks.
