Additional projects may include CO₂, hydrogen, and renewable natural gas (RNG) infrastructure.\nThe ideal candidate brings a strong background in 3D piping design, equipment layouts, and construction documentation, with direct experience supporting midstream oil and gas projects. You will work closely with mechanical, process, civil, structural, and electrical engineering teams to develop accurate, constructible designs from initial concepts through issued-for-construction deliverables.\nQualifications\n5+ years of piping design experience, preferably within the oil and gas midstream sector.\nDirect experience designing piping systems for midstream facilities such as compressor stations, pump stations, meter stations, terminals, or pipeline interconnect facilities.\nProficiency in CADWorx and AutoCAD for 3D piping modeling, equipment layouts, and construction drawing development.\nExperience with Plant 3D, Navisworks, Inventor, or similar design software is a plus.\nStrong understanding of piping components, valves, fittings, flanges, pipe supports, and equipment connections.\nExperience developing piping isometrics, general arrangements, piping plans, sections, and bills of materials.\nAbility to interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams (PFDs), equipment specifications, and engineering design documents.\nAbility to coordinate design activities across multiple engineering disciplines and manage competing project deadlines.\nDay-to-Day Responsibilities\nDevelop detailed 3D piping models and construction drawings for midstream oil and gas pipelines and facilities, primarily utilizing CADWorx and AutoCAD.\nDesign piping arrangements and equipment layouts for compressor stations, pump stations, meter stations, pipeline interconnects, and other midstream facilities.\nPrepare piping plans, elevations, sections, isometric drawings, general arrangement drawings, and material takeoffs.\nTranslate P&IDs and engineering specifications into accurate piping models and construction-ready deliverables.\nCoordinate piping designs around compressors, pumps, vessels, separators, filtration equipment, valves, and other mechanical equipment.\nIncorporate pipe supports, equipment clearances, accessibility, maintenance requirements, and constructability considerations into facility designs.\nCollaborate with process, mechanical, civil, structural, and electrical/instrumentation engineering teams to identify and resolve design conflicts.\nSupport 3D model reviews, interdisciplinary coordination, and quality control efforts throughout the design process.\nIncorporate engineering redlines, field measurements, vendor drawings, and client comments into design packages.\nPrepare and update piping bills of materials, drawing packages, and associated project documentation.\nAssist with field verification, as-built drawings, and modifications to existing facilities when required.\nWork with project managers and design leads to meet project schedules, budgets, and technical requirements while maintaining Atwell's quality standards.\nDisclaimer \nWhile AI tools may support your application process, this role is built on human talent.
