The Engineering Manager is responsible for working side by side with the team, ensuring guest and colleague comfort and safety at all times.\nTeam Leadership & Development\nWork as an active member of the management team. Create professional relationships and active involvement with all hotel operations, including but not limited to daily and weekly management meetings, and support to all team members, including the Manager on Duty Shifts.\nWork as lead to train team in areas where they possess a lack of knowledge and develop a balanced team\nServe as a culture champion by demonstrating the resort’s values, supporting a positive team environment, and contributing to a culture of service, accountability, and collaboration.\nDevelop, train, and supervise a team of technically proficient and generally helpful technicians to carry out all maintenance and repair work according to technical specifications.\nProvide in-house mechanical and electrical servicing, repair, and maintenance using well-trained, presentable personnel who carry out maintenance work efficiently, discreetly, and in a guest-friendly manner.\nEnsure the Fire system is operating properly and train the Maintenance team and key team members, e.g., the Night Audit, on fire emergency protocol.\nPM & Engineering Project Management\nEnsure that all maintenance requests are prioritized and dealt with efficiently.\nOversee and coordinate mechanical repairs, transportation, preventative maintenance, and ground/landscaping teams. \nTroubleshoot IT hardware issues.\nAct as the “go-to” in the absence of the Director of Engineering.\nIdentifying all mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and life safety equipment record-keeping for Preventive Maintenance, including which equipment requires weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual inspections/maintenance. \nDevelop working knowledge of the resort’s major equipment and infrastructure systems.\nResponsible for accurate reporting and shift documentation (i.e to include but not limited to: properly closing work orders, completing daily shift reports, and service recovery updates)\nMaintain parts, supplies, and critical spare inventory\nProcess contractor purchase orders and invoices in a timely manner.\nSystems & Monitoring\nEstablish a reporting system for Executive Committee / Ownership review.\nEstablish annual PM service contracts as needed.\nEstablish and maintain all operating and maintenance manuals for equipment per building. Hard copies and electronic files.\nEstablish and maintain photo logs of equipment for identification purposes.\nEstablish and maintain standard replacement parts to ensure parts are in place to not hold up PM service.\n Must have proven experience and a solid understanding of plumbing, HVAC, electric, spa and pool utilities, and carpentry.\nThree years’ operating experience in the engineering department of a hotel or closely related industry. Luxury preferred.\nExperience in maintaining state and federal health and safety regulations\nAble to work on a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to departmental and operational needs.\nMust be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
