With the governments signalled RMA reforms, the gazetting of 21 new and amended national directions and the forthcoming review of the Auckland Unitary Plan there are both significant challenges and opportunities for these environment shaping responsibilities of policy planning in Auckland. To help meet this Auckland Council has a Policy Planner position available within the Regional, North, West and Islands Planning Team.\nAs a Policy Planner, you will:\nProvide high-quality planning advice to elected members, Mana Whenua, communities, and other internal and external stakeholders\nWork within project teams implementing national direction, submitting on legislation, preparing council-initiated plan changes, and processing private plan changes and notices of requirement.\nEvaluate and monitor the Auckland Unitary Plan as part of full policy cycle planning and contribute as required to the forthcoming review of the Auckland Unitary Plan.\nHe kōrero mōu: About you\nThis role will require a strong focus on continuous improvement and the ability to deal with complex planning issues.
