This role requires a range of experience supporting Linux servers running customer-facing and internal applications.\nWhat You’ll Do\nEffectively deploy, configure and maintain Linux servers in a Data Center environment.\nBe accountable for server health, uptime, monitoring and disaster recovery.\nRoutinely patch, remediate and secure operating systems in alignment with security policies.\nCreate and maintain standardized OS templates and employ automation to rapidly deploy virtual machines.\nAssist project teams in technical design, strategy, planning and implementation of server and software rollouts.\nPerform daily operational tasks such as completing change requests, resolving support tickets, server monitoring and problem triage.\nProduce and maintain server documentation.\nAdopt DevOps practices to drive the use of automation to simplify routine tasks.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nKey skills\nLinux server installation, configuration and administration (RedHat, Centos).\nScripting and other automation (ie Shell, Ansible, Perl or Python).\nPerformance tuning and troubleshooting.\nVMWare, Networking and storage fundamentals.\nGood, clean documentation skills.\nDesirable skills\nAIX or Solaris Server admin.\nWindows Server admin.\nOS security and server hardening .\nSoftware deployment tools (Octupus, Jenkins, GIT, etc).\nLinux management tools (Red Hat Satellite, Katello Foreman, FreeIPA/RH IDM or Spacewalk).\nMonitoring tools (Icinga, New Relic, Opsview, Zabbix, etc).\nDisaster Recovery methodologies and implementation.\nExperience\n5+ years experience supporting Linux servers in a production environment.\nUndergraduate degree in computer science or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.\nWorking experience in a multi-platform, multi-data center IT environment.\nExperience automating tasks using scripting languages like shell (bash, csh, etc), Perl or Python\nProven experience supporting web-based applications running on Apache Tomcat.\nExperience creating and maintaining good documentation.\nPersonal Characteristics\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills.\nWillingness to identify, implement and drive improvements.\nProactive, enthusiastic and output driven.\nFlexibility with regards to working outside normal business hours as
