This role ensures the smooth deployment of enterprise Splunk technologies for our customers. The ideal candidate has sharp Splunk knowledge and keen problem-solving skills, and can quickly analyze, identify and resolve complicated issues while bringing to light solutions not previously considered. August Schell Splunk engineers are self-motivated, eager to learn new technologies, thrive in a fast-paced environment and drive customer success. This position combines work in the DC, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area with additional travel throughout the United States.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nDrive complex deployments of Splunk while working side-by-side with our customers.\n\nSolve unique challenges across a variety of use cases.\n\nCollaborate across customer organizations to identify limiting parameters and determine the best way to overcome environmental challenges.\n\nLeverage your experience and share best practices to develop innovative solutions for maximum user adoption, product value, and customer satisfaction.\n\nDeploy, configure, and tune Splunk Premium solutions, including Enterprise Security, UEBA, SOAR, and ITSI.\n\nPlan and execute Splunk Cloud migrations and support customer Splunk Cloud environments.\n\nSupport Cribl professional services engagements as needed, such as designing and deploying Cribl Stream data pipelines alongside Splunk.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nActive Secret level security clearance (or higher).\n\nSplunk Enterprise Certified Architect certification.\n\nCompTIA Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).\n\n3+ years of technical consulting experience with Splunk or Cribl.\n\nExperience in both Unix and Windows operating systems; comfortable on the command line interface.\n\nDemonstrable understanding of common enterprise applications (especially in the areas of security and finance).\n\nWillingness to travel (primarily U.S. travel).\n\nValid U.S. Driver’s License (required).\n\nAbility to quickly explore, examine and understand complex problems and apply them to customer use cases.\n\nAbility to collaborate and communicate with technical and non-technical professionals of all levels; from IT administrators to executive stakeholders.\n\nSelf-motivated and self-educating, as well as able to work well on a team.\n\nHigh level of organization with a healthy sense of urgency, ability to prioritize, communicate clearly and effectively, and meet aggressive deadlines with competing priorities.\n\nExcellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve issues in a timely and systematic manner.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance or other relevant field.\n\nStrong knowledge/experience with Linux (RHEL or RHEL-based distributions), Windows Server (2016 and greater), Scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python), and Splunk Enterprise.\n\nSplunk Core Certified Consultant certification.\n\nSplunk Enterprise Security Certified Admin or Splunk ITSI Certified Admin certification, OR a Splunk accreditation in Enterprise Security, ITSI, or SOAR.\n\nActive TS clearance.\n\nExperience with Cribl (Stream, Edge, or Search) or a Cribl certification.\n\nPay Transparency…\nAugust Schell will never discharge or discriminate against employees or applicants for discussing, inquiring about, or sharing information regarding their pay or the pay of others, in compliance with 41 CFR 60-1.35(c). The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $190,000 per year, based on qualifications, experience, and market alignment.
