We are thinkers, solvers and collaborators who work with our clients to deliver the infrastructure and assets that strengthen communities and create a sustainable future.\nWhat you’ll do\nAs a Buildings Control Engineer in our Buildings team, you’ll provide specialist technical leadership across building automation, smart buildings and control systems. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, clients and contractors, you’ll help deliver future-ready solutions across commercial, health, education, defence, cultural, transport and critical infrastructure projects. You’ll:\nLead the design of building automation and control systems from concept and detailed design through construction, testing and commissioning.\nDevelop control philosophies, functional descriptions, sequences of operation, points lists and system and network architectures.\nDesign and specify Building Management Systems and Energy Management Systems.\nProvide technical input across smart-building platforms, DDC, PLC and SCADA systems, OT networks, field instrumentation and control devices.\nReview automation designs, specifications, shop drawings and contractor submissions, including controller wiring diagrams, control cabinet drawings and HMI graphics.\nProvide technical guidance during construction, testing and commissioning, including onsite implementation when required.\nCoordinate automation and control requirements across mechanical, electrical, digital, security, fire, hydraulic and sustainability disciplines.\nWork closely with clients and stakeholders to understand operational requirements and develop practical, reliable and future-ready solutions.\nApply relevant engineering legislation, Australian Standards and Safety in Design principles throughout project delivery.\nManage technical delivery across multiple concurrent projects.\nPrepare technical scopes, specifications and fee proposals for tenders.\nSupport the technical development of engineers and contribute to the continued growth of our automation and smart-buildings capability.\nTravel to client sites when required, with potential opportunities to support projects overseas.\nWhat you’ll bring\nYou'll have strong experience in building automation, controls engineering or smart buildings, supported by relevant engineering qualifications or equivalent industry experience. You'll also bring:\nStrong experience designing and delivering Building Management Systems (BMS) \nExperience with DDC, PLC and/or SCADA control systems. \nKnowledge of building automation protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, MQTT or OPC. \nExperience developing control philosophies, functional descriptions and sequences of operation. \nUnderstanding of OT networks, system integration and smart-building technologies. \nExperience across design, construction support, testing and commissioning. \nKnowledge of building services systems, particularly HVAC controls and energy management. \nStrong technical documentation, specification writing and design review capability. \nExcellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams. \nA passion for innovation, problem solving and delivering high-quality technical outcomes. \nHow we support your growth\nWe believe your career should be a rewarding adventure.
