We are thinkers, solvers, and collaborators who work with our clients to deliver the infrastructure and assets that strengthen communities and create a sustainable future.\nHow will your ideas contribute to shaping what’s next?\nWith continued sustainable growth, specifically within our Ground & Underground Engineering Practice, we are delighted to share that we have an exciting opening within this Practice for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Newcastle region.\nSome of the duties your role will include:\nConduct geotechnical desktop studies to identify geotechnical hazards\nScope geotechnical investigations to obtain project specific site conditions\nSupervising and mentoring junior Geotechnical Engineers\nScoping and managing geotechnical site investigations\nParticipating in geotechnical site investigation and construction phase supervision while complying with sustainability and safety requirements.\nUndertake geotechnical engineering design and analysis on infrastructure projects, demonstrating analytical and critical thinking skills.\nProduce geotechnical engineering calculations and outputs, using relevant software such as gINT, Geostudio and Plaxis. \nConducts some geotechnical reports (desktop study / factual report / smaller project interpretive reports) independently to high quality level.\nAbility to review project deliverables. \nUnderstands and complies with industry standards, Australian standards and conventions in technical documentation. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a team to bring ideas to life.\nAs well as experience in a similar role in addition to below.\nAround 2-4 years professional experience in engineering consulting or similar, specialising in geotechnical engineering.\nGood written and oral communication skills\nAbility to work collaboratively both internally and externally (sub-contractors, clients).\nSelecting appropriate Site investigation (SI) required for earthworks. Plan and manage SI work and review factual in ground interpretation reports.
