What will you do?

TheGlobal Mobility Team Leader is responsible for leading the operational delivery of Aurecon's global mobility services, ensuring a compliant, efficient and employee-focused experience across all assignment and relocation types. The role leads and develops the Shared Services Mobility team, manages operational risk and service performance, and works in partnership with the Head of Total Rewards and Mobility, People Services and key business stakeholders to implement Aurecon's global mobility strategy, framework and policies.

The role reports to the People Services Manager for people leadership and Shared Services operations, with functional accountability to the Head of Total Rewards and Mobility for mobility service delivery, policy implementation, governance and priorities.

Below are some of the things you will be doing to support “bringing ideas to life”:

Operational Delivery and Governance

• Lead the end-to-end operational delivery of global mobility services across Aurecon's geographies, including immigration, international assignments, relocations and transfers.
• Ensure service and quality issues are addressed promptly and oversee operational reporting and process implementation.
• Advocate Aurecon's Global Mobility Framework and policies and ensure consistent application of mobility processes and service standards.
• Plan resources, capability and capacity to meet stakeholder requirements and maintain service continuity.
• Make operational decisions within delegated authority and escalate material policy, compliance, financial or employee-relations risks appropriately.
• Maintain effective operational controls, case governance, documentation and audit readiness across mobility processes.
• Identify emerging operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.

Complex Cases and Stakeholder Advice

• Lead the resolution of complex or escalated mobility cases involving immigration, taxation, payroll, employment, relocation and cross-border compliance.
• Provide practical mobility advice to People leaders, People Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Payroll and business stakeholders.
• Balance employee experience, business requirements, cost and compliance when recommending solutions.

Service Performance and Continuous Improvement

• Maintain a high level of customer service and provide guidance to resolve escalated or complex issues.
• Drive continuous improvement through process optimisation, data management, standardisation and automation initiatives.
• Establish and monitor service measures, including case volumes, cycle times, service quality, compliance, employee experience and vendor performance.
• Use mobility data and insights to identify risks, capacity requirements and opportunities to improve service delivery.
• Provide regular reporting and operational insights to the Head of Total Rewards and Mobility and People Services leadership.
• Lead the implementation of mobility process, system and policy changes within Shared Services.

Vendor and Commercial Management

• Manage the operational performance of immigration, taxation, relocation and other mobility providers against agreed service levels.
• Review service quality, resolve provider performance issues and support vendor reviews, contract discussions and cost-management initiatives.
• Monitor mobility expenditure and identify opportunities to improve value and control costs.

People Leadership and Capability

• Lead, motivate and develop the Mobility team, ensuring training and development needs are met, and succession plans are in place.
• Determine training requirements, share knowledge and address capability or performance gaps in a timely manner.
• Set clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for service delivery, quality and compliance.
• Build team capability through coaching, cross-training, succession planning and structured knowledge transfer.
• Allocate work and manage capacity according to business priorities, case complexity and service risk.
• Foster an inclusive, high-performing team culture that supports collaboration, wellbeing and continuous improvement.

Shared Services Operations

• Establish a culture of flexibility and adaptability to varying business requirements and operating hours.
• Ensure the team complies with confidentiality and information-handling requirements relating to People activities.

What can you bring to the team?

• Proven Global Mobility leadership experience, with a strong track record of managing and developing high-performing teams in a service delivery or specialist environment.
• Deep expertise in global mobility operations, including international assignments, immigration, taxation, payroll, relocation, and cross-border employment considerations.
• Strong knowledge of Australia, New Zealand, and Asia mobility frameworks, including immigration requirements, regulatory compliance, and mobility governance.
• Experience managing complex and escalated mobility cases across multiple jurisdictions while ensuring risk mitigation and operational compliance.
• Demonstrated project and change management capabilities, including process improvement, policy enhancements, and technology implementations within a global or shared services environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively across global matrix organizations and senior leadership teams.
• Analytical and data-driven mindset, with experience using reporting, service metrics, and insights to drive decision-making, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Self-starter with excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, capable of working independently, managing competing priorities, and delivering outcomes with integrity and resilience.
• Experience with HRIS, ATS, or Global Mobility platforms such as Workday and similar systems.
• Experience managing third-party mobility, immigration, or relocation vendors and service providers.
