Our differences are what fuel our creativity.\nWhat will you do?\nThe Project Manager owns a portfolio of road design projects from award through to Issued for Construction (IFC), delivered from Manila for SRAPC in Sydney.\nSRAPC is a long-term maintenance and upgrade contract for Transport for NSW’s Sydney road network, with Aurecon providing design services to Connect Sydney. Projects range from concept through to detailed design and include road widening, intersection upgrades, drainage and culvert remediation, pavement rehabilitation, bridge safety improvements, slope remediation and road safety improvements.\nThe portfolio covers two types of work: recurring, maintenance-driven design packages (known on the contract as tactical works) and larger, standalone upgrades (special projects).\nThe Manila team already leads design management on SRAPC and has delivered design work under the contract for four years. This role adds project management capability to the team. The Project Manager owns the commercial, client and delivery aspects of the projects, with sufficient civil and roads technical depth to understand the design, coordinate the different civil disciplines, respond to client questions and constructively challenge the team.\nProject delivery: Own each project from award to IFC, including scope management, program, resourcing, budget and submissions\nTechnical oversight: Stay across the design of every project, explain the design to the client, and understand how the design achieves the client's objectives. The Design Manager coordinates the design team; the Project Manager brings the technical judgement to lead the project\nClient liaison: Prepare for and lead client meetings, present design outcomes with confidence, and propose solutions to their questions\nProject schedule and risks: Keep the program current and flag high-risk tasks, dependencies and delays early so the client is told on time\n Quality: Ensure the Quality Management Plan (QMP) is followed on every deliverable\nCommercial: Deliver forecasts and payment claims by their due dates, raise variations, and monitor commercial performance weekly\nProposals: Coordinate fee proposals and bring in the right people for technical inputs\nBring energy to the team by asking questions, sharing ideas and taking ownership of agreed tasks. You will also need the following:\nEssential (Must have)\nCivil engineering background with a strong problem-solving and delivery-focused attitude.\n9+ years’ experience managing civil or transport infrastructure design projects within a consultancy.\nExperience in commercial management, including forecasting, payment claims and variations.\nExperience in direct client management, including progress meetings and submissions.\nExcellent written and spoken English.\nTechnical Skills\nHands-on experience in civil road design, including road geometry, pavements, drainage and utilities.\nProactive approach with strong early risk identification skills across concept, detailed design and IFC stages.\nConfidence in discussing technical matters with clients and specialists and proposing practical solutions.\nDesirable (Nice to have)\nExperience delivering road projects for Australian or New Zealand clients.\nFamiliarity with Transport for NSW and/or Austroads standards.\nExperience with Road Safety Audit and Safety in Design (HSID) processes.\nExposure to structures or geotechnical design, including bridges and slope remediation.\nExperience with ProjectWise and Synergy.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.\nA project management qualification, such as PMP or PRINCE2.\nOurAurecon Attributes define our way of being - they are a collection of qualities that makes us who we are.
