We are thinkers, solvers, and collaborators who work with our clients to deliver the infrastructure and assets that strengthen communities and create a sustainable future.\nWhat you’ll do\nAs a Senior Power Systems Engineer in our EI&C team based in Perth, you’ll contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference and be part of a team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and engineers solutions with people and outcomes in mind.\nDeliver load flow, short-circuit, contingency, fault level, voltage, reactive power, dynamic stability and network planning studies.\nDevelop, validate and troubleshoot DIgSILENT PowerFactory network, generator and inverter-based resource models.\nPerform RMS dynamic simulations and assess generation, network and connection performance.\nSupport Generator Performance Standards assessments, model verification, compliance studies and commissioning activities.\nAssess system strength, power quality, harmonics, network interactions, constraints and augmentation options.\nPrepare clear study reports, technical memoranda, specifications and client deliverables from feasibility through to operational support.\nApply Python and/or PowerFactory DSL/DPL scripting to improve study efficiency and repeatability where appropriate.\nLead defined study packages, collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior engineers and graduates.\nWhat you’ll bring\nA bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or an equivalent relevant qualification.\nTypically 5+ years of relevant power systems experience, with the capability to independently undertake studies.\nStrong practical experience using DIgSILENT PowerFactory for network modelling, load flow, short-circuit and RMS dynamic studies.\nSound understanding of transmission, distribution and generation systems, with strong engineering judgement and attention to data quality.\nExperience preparing technical reports and presenting engineering findings to clients and stakeholders.\nExperience in the SWIS/WEM environment, including Western Power requirements, AEMO processes, GPS assessments or generator model compliance.\nExperience with renewable generation, battery energy storage, system strength, harmonics, PSCAD/EMTDC, PSS®E, ETAP, Python or PowerFactory DSL/DPL will be highly regarded.\nHow we support your growth\nWe believe your career should be a rewarding adventure.
