This role will be focused on maintaining our fleet vehicles, performing routine maintenance, complex repair, and collaboration with our hardware team upgrading components. This position requires great attention to detail, excellent cross-team communication, documentation and solid diagnostic chops. Must be comfortable solving difficult challenges, ready to roll up the sleeves to expedite repair and a constant eye for quality. Must have experience using OEM diagnostic tools, methodologies, and a logical troubleshooting approach.\nIn this role, you will\nWork closely with Vehicle Operations, Software, and Hardware performing diagnostics, test-plans, and vehicle upgrades.\n\nPerform routine OEM maintenance to complex mechanical and electrical repairs.\n\nDocument and communicate findings through process and systems\n\nTake ownership and escalate data or findings when appropriate\n\nPerform quality service and repair, work cross functionally, and bring a can-do team spirit.\n\nMaintain a clean and professional workspace.\n\nCapable of balancing and prioritizing multiple tasks.\n\nMechanical aptitude: Hands on familiarization with the mechanical design of the base platform, an ability to fully utilize electrical and mechanical tooling to fulfill routine daily work.\n\nTesting procedures: has proficiency in testing and gathering accurate data from mech and elec test applications, a resourcefulness to develop new testing methods to support currently faced problems.\n\nProvides feedback, creates and implements processes and suggestions to new and/or improved workshop standards, protocols, and processes.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nAt least 3- 6 years OEM Technician Experience\n\nSolid diagnostics chops\n\nValid US driver’s license.\n\nDemonstrate knowledge of basic workshop etiquette, provide verbal and writing communication across all teams\n\nSafety conscious and knowledge of general shop safety\n\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds\n\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb, and/or sit frequently throughout the duration of the day\n\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision\n\nAttention to detail and highly organized\n\nAbility to travel as needed\n\nAvailable to work day or night shifts\n\nAbility to work early mornings or late nights, on rotating shifts\n\nAbility to work regular overtime and some weekends\n\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.\n\nAbility to write routine reports and correspondence.\n\nAbility to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.\n\nDesired Qualifications\nAt least 2 years diesel experience\n\nBasic Knowledge of DOT and CVSA rules and requirements\n\nDirect manufacturing and prototyping experience a bonus\n\nPrior experience working with autonomous vehicles\n\nAdvanced CAN bus diagnostics and troubleshooting\n\nVehicle network communication diagnostics (CAN, J1939)\n\nThe base hourly wage range for this position is $35.50 - $46.25 per hour. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
