This person will lead a multidisciplinary team in operations, driving initiatives around fleet optimization, efficiency, and morale. This role demands cross functional collaboration within Vehicle Operations and with stakeholders throughout Aurora. The right person is highly motivated, approachable, and dedicated to the development and productivity of the team.\nIn this role, you will\nLead a team of managers and/or operators\n\nLead with empathy and establish an inspired safety culture for all in-vehicle teams\n\nLead by example and successfully collaborate cross functionally, with a “Win Together” mindset\n\nDevelop and drive your team by building on individual strengths and opportunities, to ensure continuous growth and development\n\nFollow all Aurora policies and adhere to the Vehicle Operations Manual\n\nManage your team’s productivity and efficiency striving for continuous improvement\n\nUnderstand all major Aurora initiatives and programs, and communicate them effectively to ensure alignment at every level of your team.\n\nAct as POC for key Aurora initiatives as they pertain to Vehicle Operations\n\nInteract with the public as an ambassador for Aurora\n\nRequired Qualifications\nSafety focused\n\nAbility to make command decisions, lead by example, and motivate teams.\n\nExceptional critical thinking and communication skills\n\nExperience working in a collaborative environment.\n\nValid US driver’s license and clean driving history, validated by an MVR check\n\nComfortable with travel for up to one month at a time, up to 30% of your time\n\nDesirable Qualifications\n3+ years of people management focusing on growth and development\n\nExperience managing managers\n\nExperience making schedules, managing vacation requests, participating in quarterly planning, and goal setting for self and others\n\nExperience working and managing rotating shifts, possibly early morning, late evening, and some weekends\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to adjust for audience\n\nStrong technical aptitude and ability to learn new software applications and processes\n\nThe ability to operate independently with little or no supervision\n\nStrong organizational skills\n\nAbility to prioritize testing deliverables and assignments from just high-level detail, and delegate appropriately\n\nEnsure a safety first approach is adopted by the team\n\nAbility to lead through ambiguity to set clear objectives for your team\n\nExperience in operations, trucking, technology, or customer service field.\n\nConflict management and resolution experience\n\nThe base salary range for this position is $112,500 - $133,500 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
