Map Production builds and maintains the HD semantic maps the Aurora Driver relies on to navigate safely from destination to destination. In this role, you will become an expert in Aurora’s mapping policies, processes, and proprietary tools, deliver high-quality map annotations, and grow into owning a functional area of the team, driving the documentation, process improvements, and automation that help our mapping operations scale.\nIn this role you will\nAnnotate, expand, and maintain HD semantic maps using Aurora’s proprietary mapping tools, meeting productivity and quality goals\n\nSupport day-to-day Production operations, including annotation queues, map issue escalations, construction-zone monitoring, and route launches\n\nManage your own workload across multiple processes and adapt to shifting priorities, escalating risks and blockers early\n\nTake ownership of a functional area as a subject matter expert, building documentation, process flows, and best practices\n\nIdentify gaps in tools, workflows, and procedures, and drive improvements through optimization, scaling, and automation\n\nPartner with Engineering, Enablement (Training), and functional owners to share feedback and improve mapping tools and processes\n\nMentor teammates by sharing best practices and leading shadow sessions\n\nRequired qualifications\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience\n\n4+ years of professional experience in operations, mapping/GIS, data annotation, or another technical operations environment\n\nStrong attention to detail and the ability to deliver consistent quality on high-volume, policy-driven work\n\nHands-on troubleshooting skills and comfort working with technical tools and data\n\nClear written and verbal communication, including documenting processes and escalating issues\n\nAbility to work onsite in Mountain View, CA, Monday through Friday (10AM-6:30PM PT)\n\nDesirable qualifications\nTechnical skills such as SQL, scripting, or data analysis\n\nExperience using AI tools to support daily work, such as data analysis or dashboard creation\n\nProject management or team leadership experience\n\nExperience with GIS, HD mapping, geospatial data, autonomous vehicles, or robotics\n\nFor roles based in Mountain View, CA: The hourly wage range for this position is $36.25 - $54.50 per hour. \nAurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
