You will be at the very forefront of our technology, executing critical on-road and closed-course testing across our autonomous fleet. With safety as your top priority, your hands-on experience and real-time feedback will be delivered directly to our engineers, measurably shaping the development of our self-driving technology.\nIn this role, you will\nSafely copilot autonomous semi trucks for on road and closed course testing in service of our development and commercial pilot operations\n\nRemain alert and attentive while monitoring the Aurora Driver during extended stretches of autonomy\n\nLog real time feedback regarding autonomy and platform performance during testing, to be delivered to engineers\n\nProvide out-of-vehicle support for structured track testing, including operating passenger vehicles and other equipment to execute tests across the track network\n\nEscalate operational blockers with suggested solutions\n\nCollaborate cross-functionally with teams throughout Aurora to help drive progress on Aurora’s mission\n\nDemonstrate positive impact at Aurora by working on cross-functional projects as time permits\n\nMaintain up to date knowledge of how our self-driving technology works. Understand daily software and operational changes.\n\nWork toward quantitative and qualitative goals that impact all of Vehicle Operations and Aurora\n\nInteract with the public as an ambassador for Aurora\n\nRequired Qualifications\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal\n\nKeen attention to detail and consistent focus on safety\n\nAbility to prioritize and make strategic decisions proactively\n\nWillingness to learn every day\n\nAbility to monitor cutting edge software on a laptop and type in a moving vehicle, for extended periods of time\n\nAbility to use laptops and tablets to launch test missions, monitor real-time data feeds, and enter detailed digital logs.\n\nValid U.S. driver’s license with at least 5 years of driving history\n\nDriving record must pass Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) guidelines\n\nMust pass pre-employment, post-incident, and randomized drug testing\n\nIs at least 25 years of age\n\nAbility to travel up to 50% or as needed\n\nAbility to work rotating shifts as needed, and regular overtime and weekends\n\n80% of shift time spent in vehicle (vehicle as office)\n\nDesired Qualifications\nInquisitive attitude, interested in problem solving and solving puzzles\n\nExperience in operations, technology, customer service, or automotive field.\n\nExperience working in a collaborative environment - team player\n\nProficient in Google Workspace Products (Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets)\n\nCommand line interface experience\n\nInterest and aptitude for technology tools - apps, gaming, adobe creative suite, etc.\n\nThe base hourly wage range for this position is $27.50 - $33.50 per hour. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
