At AOD, every role contributes to meaningful work that supports safe, high-quality food, a respectful workplace, and a more sustainable future.\nPurpose\nThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring proper maintenance and repairs of all equipment with a strong emphasis on preventative maintenance.\nEssential Responsibilities\nAll plant personnel have the responsibility to monitor and report any deviations from our Food Safety and Food Quality (HACCP & SQF) programs to their immediate supervisor.\nInspect, diagnose and repair all plant equipment.\nKnowledge of PLC, mechanical, electrical, refrigeration systems and process technology.\nDiagnose and repair computerized control systems, including HVAC. Weld, fabricate, and assemble parts for industrial equipment.\nPerform general shop and building maintenance and repairs, and maintain all associated records and inventory.\nProvide assistance to other team members in the performance of equipment repairs.\nPerform other tasks as scheduled and assigned by the Shift Lead.\nOther Required Responsibilities\nParticipate in training fellow maintenance team members and other plant employees.\nEnsure open communication with all team members to support workplace effectiveness.\nMaintain professionalism in handling work situations.\nWork with immediate supervisor on any specific/required skill development.\nMaintain work areas in accordance with established standards, i.e., GMP and SQF requirements.\nWork safely and comply with all aspects of the AOD Employee Safety Manual.\nSkills and Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required; two-year associate or technical degree preferred.\nExperience with high-speed packaging equipment.\nEducation and/or experience supporting industrial networking.\nEducation and/or experience supporting Rockwell Automation, PLCs and VFDs.\nEducation and/or experience programming or altering programs in PLCs, HMI, VFD, and RSLinx.\nEducation and/or experience installing and calibrating industrial sensors and meters (level, temperature, pH and flow).\nGood communication skills with a strong work ethic and the ability to multitask.\nAbility to use blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects and repairs.\nPhysical Requirements\nMust be able to regularly stand, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl around equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in varying temperature conditions, often in wet and/or humid conditions. Noise level requires hearing protection. Must be comfortable working at heights. Must be able to work nights and weekends.
