We’re committed to fostering a diverse, respectful, and inclusive workplace, and encourage applications from all backgrounds.\nSee yourself working here\nReporting to the Field Supervisor, you will provide plant operation and general labouring support for the construction and maintenance of our electricity network.\nIf you have experience as a civil plant operator or labourer, this is an opportunity to put your practical skills to work supporting our field crews. You will bring experience operating plant and equipment, using tools and working safely on site. You will be a reliable team member who communicates clearly, follows instructions and looks out for the safety of others.\nYour key responsibilities will include:\nPrepare sites and assist with excavation and trenching\nOperate plant, machinery and vehicles, including bobcats, excavators, cable winch trucks and cranes\nSupport the installation and removal of power poles and cable works\nProvide ground support and general labouring assistance to line crews\nAssist with emergency restoration work\nAct as a safety observer within your training and authorisations\nWhat you bring to the role\nTo be successful, you will have the following skills & experience:\nHigh Risk Work Licences (HRWL) - multiple e.g., dogging, forklift, mobile crane\nClass MR drivers licence (HR drivers licence preferred)\nSound knowledge of relevant statutes, regulations, and procedures such as safe working practices, network standards and codes of practice\nWH&S WorkCover - General Induction\nDemonstrated experience in the operation of plant and equipment\nCompetence in the use of various hand, power operated and specialised tools\nAsbestos awareness and understanding of how to work safely with asbestos materials\nDemonstrated experience in the application of safe manual handling techniques\nBasic skills in the use of computers and mobile devices\nDemonstrated experience in effectively communicating with others\nLife at Ausgrid\nAt Ausgrid, we go beyond just a competitive salary to offer an exciting range of benefits.
