We’re celebrating 80 years of award-winning work and have been named one of Oregon Business’ 100 Best Companies.\nWhat You'll Do\nAs a Project Engineer Intern, you’ll work alongside a Project Engineer who will serve as your coach and mentor. You’ll gain hands-on experience across the project lifecycle while supporting Project Engineers, Project Managers, Superintendents, and Ausland’s in-house design team.\nYour assignments will vary based on project needs, your experience, and your development throughout the internship. Under the direction and guidance of a Project Engineer, you may assist with:\nSupporting project delivery from early design and preconstruction through construction and final closeout.\nCollaborating with architects, engineers, subcontractors, consultants, clients, and construction team members to support project coordination and execution.\nMaintaining project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, contracts, meeting documentation, and other project records.\nAssisting with the coordination of information between the design and construction teams to help ensure design intent is effectively carried through construction.\nSupporting project cost tracking, including budgets, commitments, change orders, and other financial documentation.\nAssisting with estimating, bidding, scope development, and subcontractor coordination during preconstruction.\nSupporting project schedule development and maintenance, including tracking activities, identifying potential delays, and following up on outstanding items.\nAssisting with procurement and project logistics, including tracking materials, equipment, and other project requirements.\nSupporting field teams with project coordination and documentation as needed.\nParticipating in project meetings and assisting with meeting notes, action items, and follow-up.\nUsing construction and project management technology, including Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera P6, Microsoft Copilot, and other applicable tools.\nTaking on additional project responsibilities as assigned by the Project Engineer based on project needs and the intern’s skills and development.\nDeveloping practical construction knowledge, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities through hands-on experience with an integrated design and construction team.\nYou May Be a Good Fit You\nAre currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.\nHave an interest in commercial construction and the integration of design and construction.\nAre organized and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.\nCommunicate clearly and work effectively with a variety of people.\nDemonstrate strong attention to detail and a willingness to ask questions and learn.\nStay organized and composed when managing changing priorities and deadlines.\nTake initiative, follow through on assignments, and accept responsibility for your work.\nAre comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative project team.\nAre interested in developing practical experience with construction processes, project management, scheduling, estimating, and project documentation.\nWorking at Ausland\nOur culture is built on Integration, Innovation, Stewardship, and Tenacity.
