The ideal candidate will be a motivated problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative, safety-focused manufacturing environment. is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and performing preventative maintenance on electrical and electronic systems, controls, and equipment. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.\nKey Responsibilities and Duties\nProvide technical support for chemical manufacturing processes related to energetic materials and packaged explosives.\nLead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, cost, quality, and operability.\nCollaborate with engineering, production, maintenance, and support teams to troubleshoot and resolve process issues.\nIdentify and implement improvements in areas such as raw material yields, energy efficiency, product quality, and environmental impact.\nManage engineering projects from concept through completion, including documentation, safety reviews, and operational procedures.\nDevelop and maintain process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and process safety documentation.\nSupport compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and environmental regulations.\nParticipate in equipment reliability and process optimization efforts.\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related engineering discipline.\nEntry-level or experienced engineers are encouraged to apply.\nKnowledge of chemical manufacturing equipment and process control systems is preferred.\nFamiliarity with OSHA PSM and reactive chemical processes is a plus.\nSkills and Knowledge\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication abilities.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering software tools.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.\nCommitment to safety and attention to detail.\nTeam-oriented with a proactive and adaptable mindset.\nWork Environment\nManufacturing plant setting with exposure to chemical processes and industrial equipment.\nRequires ability to ascend/descend stairs and ladders, and work in various plant areas.\nCollaborative team environment focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.\nOpportunities for career growth and professional development within a supportive company culture.\nAustin Powder is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer and is committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
