In this supervisory capacity, the role is responsible for coordinating daily build activities, managing schedules, and directing team members to achieve on time project completion. The position will also ensure proper sourcing and availability of parts, troubleshoot operational issues, and collaborate with engineering to support continuous improvement initiatives. The Mobile Equipment Manufacturing Engineer will report directly to the Bulk Equipment Systems Manager.Key Responsibilities and Duties\nUtilize CAD software to create new designs or modify existing fabrication models, ensuring accuracy and alignment with production requirements.\nDevelop and maintain detailed assembly instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).\nDevelop and direct daily and weekly workflow plans, assign tasks and adjusting priorities to meet build schedules efficiently.\nTrack build progress using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).\nDevelop and maintain KPIs to report cost, quality, and schedule performance.\nDevelop and maintain standards for labeling, storage, organization, and tracking to minimize downtime and maintain workflow efficiency.\nOversee inventory management and ensure timely replenishment to prevent excess or shortages of inventory.\nRespond promptly to schedule changes driven by customer demand.\nProvide direct supervision, coaching, and support to department employees to help achieve personal and career development goals.\nInterpret mechanical and electrical schematics to develop accurate assembly plans.\nReinforce 5S standards and promote a culture of continuous improvement through the workplace.\nWork with various suppliers in obtaining competitive quotes to ensure cost effective purchasing that meets quality expectations.\nMonitor assembly times and labor to analyze costs, identify inefficiencies, and implement strategies to reduce costs while improving quality.\nAbility to work various hours and to work overtime occasionally to support production deadlines and ensure timely project completion.\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).\n3+ years of experience in a mechanical, maintenance, or shop environment preferred.\nExperience in supervising teams in an assembly or mechanical setting.\nIndustrial, explosive, or chemical manufacturing experience preferred.\nSkills, Knowledge, and Abilities\nFamiliar with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).\nFamiliar with Lean manufacturing principles and 5S implementation.\nStrong supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and drive employees.\nStrong planning and time management capabilities to meet deadlines and maintain schedules.\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.\nEffective problem-solving abilities to identify issues and implement cost effective, quality driven solutions.\nUnderstanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.\nAbility to effectively communicate with various departments and team members, including contractors and suppliers.\nAbility to use various hand & power tools.\nFamiliar with CMMS software and other required applications.\nPossess basic Microsoft Word & Excel skills.\nPossess basic math skills and reading & comprehension skills.\nStrong commitment to safety and to utilizing Stop Work Authority.\nAbility to wear and work in required personal protective equipment (PPE).\nAbility to climb ladders and stairs, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and work at heights.\nAbility to bend, stoop, stand, and walk for long periods of time.\nWork Environment\nFirst shift, Monday-Friday. This position will be exposed to a shop environment including the build center, maintenance area, and parts warehouse.
