We design and manufacture our hardware in Austin, Texas, with a focus on making high-performance sensing reliable, affordable, and widely available.\nAbout the Role\nWe’re hiring a Fabrication Technician to build the parts, fixtures, and assemblies behind our sensing systems. You’ll work directly with engineering and manufacturing to turn designs into hardware, supporting prototypes, test equipment, and production builds.\nThis is a hands-on shop role. You’ll fabricate components, assemble hardware, inspect your work, and help improve our manufacturing methods. We’re looking for someone who works carefully, understands shop equipment, and can solve practical problems as designs change.\nWhat You’ll Do\nFabricate brackets, enclosures, mounts, fixtures, and other mechanical components from engineering drawings and specifications.\n\nSet up and operate mills, lathes, drill presses, saws, and other shop equipment appropriate to your training.\n\nCut, drill, tap, deburr, and finish parts for prototypes and production assemblies.\n\nAssemble mechanical hardware, checking fit, alignment, and fastening against drawings and build instructions.\n\nInspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.\n\nWork with engineers to resolve fit issues and recommend changes that make parts easier to manufacture and assemble.\n\nBuild and modify jigs, fixtures, and tooling to improve consistency and reduce build time.\n\nDocument fabrication steps, inspection results, and build issues so successful work can be repeated.\n\nMaintain tools and equipment and keep the shop clean, organized, and safe.\n\nSupport prototype builds, repairs, and production needs as priorities change.\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\nExperience in fabrication, machining, mechanical assembly, or a similar hands-on role.\n\nThe ability to read engineering drawings and work to specified dimensions and tolerances.\n\nExperience using shop equipment, hand tools, and precision measurement tools.\n\nA working understanding of materials, fasteners, and common fabrication methods.\n\nCareful workmanship and the ability to identify defects before parts move into assembly.\n\nThe ability to troubleshoot fabrication and assembly problems and communicate them clearly to engineers.\n\nConsistent attention to shop safety and proper equipment use.\n\nComfort working on both one-off prototypes and repeat production builds.\n\nPreferred Experience\nExperience operating or programming CNC equipment.\n\nExperience with sheet metal fabrication, welding, or additive manufacturing.\n\nFamiliarity with CAD software and translating models into fabrication steps.\n\nExperience building jigs,
