About ACC Launceston

Our Launceston Campus in Tasmania is a K-10 co-ed Christian school. While the school community is still relatively small (120+), the growth over the past five years has been strong and sustained as is the school’s learning environment and culture.

Forget being just another face in a crowded staffroom. At ACC Launceston, we are building something special: a close-knit community united by a shared faith and a passion for education.

As a growing school, we offer a unique and exciting environment. We’re small enough that every teacher is known and valued, but we’re dynamic enough to offer real opportunities for professional growth. Our team is collaborative, supportive, and truly lives out our shared purpose.

We believe in quality over quantity, giving you the time and space to actually teach, build deep relationships, and see your students flourish academically and spiritually.

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Distance Education Teacher to join our established and growing Distance Education program, supported by a national curriculum and learning provider. If you value Christian Education, have a heart for serving students and families, and enjoy working in an innovative and flexible learning environment, this could be the role for you.

The position would suit a secondary educator with the ability to teach across multiple learning areas or a teacher with specialist skills in one or more of the following: English, Humanities, Mathematics, Science or Technologies. Depending on the successful applicant’s skills and interests, there may also be scope for a Years 4-6 Primary teaching load. Experience teaching Years 11 and 12 would be advantageous.

Distance Education requires a distinctive skill set. We are particularly looking for an educator who is:

  • highly organised, efficient and confident managing procedures and multiple student learning pathways;
  • skilled in ICT, online learning platforms and virtual learning environments;
  • committed to developing quality assessment and providing timely, meaningful feedback; and
  • able to build strong relationships with students and families while supporting students to become increasingly independent learners.

This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who values Christian Education, flexibility, innovation and relationships and would like to contribute their gifts to an established Distance Education program while helping shape its continued growth.

This part time or full time role (0.4FTE - 1.0FTE) will start January 2027.

Statement of Commitment to Child Safety

ACC is a child safe organisation which welcomes all children, young people and their families. We are committed to providing environments where our students are safe and feel safe, where their participation is valued, their views respected, and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives. Our child safe policies, strategies and practices are inclusive of the needs of all children and students. We have no tolerance for child abuse and take proactive steps to identify and manage any risks of harm to students in our school environments.

Requirements

We are looking for teachers who:

  • Hold a current TRB TAS Teacher registration.
  • Hold a valid RWVP.
  • See teaching as a ministry and are actively involved in a local church.
  • Thrive in a "hands-on" community and are excited to help shape a growing school.
  • Build positive, structured, and engaging classrooms, setting high and fair expectations.
  • Are committed to excellence, demonstrating a strong understanding of (or a real willingness to master) evidence-based practices like Explicit Direct Instruction (EDI).
  • Love to collaborate and see the value in a supportive, shared-purpose staff team.

Benefits

We know that moving schools (or cities) is a big decision. We value our staff and invest in them accordingly.

  • Authentic Christian Community: A work environment where you can live out your faith and be encouraged daily.
  • Career & Leadership Growth: As a growing school, we offer tangible opportunities for leadership development and career progression.
  • Excellent Resources: You'll work with well-established and resourced teaching programs.
  • Holistic Support: Access to our employee wellbeing program (including EAP) and staff discounts.

If you are a qualified teacher with a vibrant Christian faith and a heart for service, we would love to hear from you.
