As an AWEI Bronze employer and member of the Champions of Change Coalition for gender equality, we’re committed to a fair and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.\nYour Team\nAs a member of the ASX test team, you will work closely with Developers, Support Analysts, Business Analysts, Test Engineers, Automation Engineers, Infrastructure Engineers and Business Stakeholders to review and clarify requirements, strengthen testability, plan and execute testing, manage defects, report progress and escalate risks and issues to the Test Manager.\nYour responsibilities\nDesign, develop and maintain scalable Java-based automated test frameworks and reusable automation components.\n\nStudy, improve and modernize existing automation frameworks, execution processes and CI/CD pipelines.\n\nBuild and maintain automated testing pipelines using Git, GitLab CI/CD or equivalent tooling.\n\nPromote shift-left testing by working with BAs, Developers and Product Owners to review requirements for clarity, testability and automation readiness.\n\nPlan, develop and execute automated and manual test cases for ASX Trade and related market platform changes.\n\nValidate market data, order flow and interface behavior across applicable trading protocols such as FIX, ITCH and OUCH that are relevant.\n\nSupport system, system integration, regression, end-to-end, parallel, operational readiness and production verification testing activities.\n\nPrepare test data, manage test environment dependencies and troubleshoot execution issues across Linux/Unix and integrated environments.\n\nDocument test results, produce release evidence and support sign-off so releases can be promoted safely to production.\n\nLog, investigate and report defects with clear evidence, impact, severity and reproducibility details.\n\nWork closely with BAs, Developers, Support Analysts, Infrastructure teams and Business Stakeholders to communicate test status, risks and issues.\n\nContribute actively to the QE&T Community of Practice, including automation standards, engineering practices and continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nDemonstrate strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.\n\nWork independently and as part of a team, managing competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on quality, delivery and business outcomes.\n\nYour experience and qualifications\nMust have\n7-9 years of automation testing experience, including API and integration testing across different protocols.\n\nStrong Java automation experience, with the ability to build reusable libraries, utilities and maintainable frameworks.\n\nGood working knowledge of Python and the ability to extend or support Python-based frameworks.\n\nStrong understanding of object-oriented programming, clean coding practices and framework design patterns.\n\nExperience with Cucumber, Gherkin and behavior-driven test automation approaches.\n\nExperience across system, system integration, regression, end-to-end, parallel and release verification testing.\n\nHands-on experience with CI tools and CI/CD pipelines, including setup, maintenance and execution monitoring.\n\nExperience using Git, GitLab or equivalent source control and branching strategies.\n\nStrong Linux/Unix command-line capability and troubleshooting skills.\n\nExperience with test environment coordination, test data setup and execution dependency management.\n\nExperience with Jira and Confluence for test management, defect management and project documentation.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.\n\nAbility to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities in medium to large project teams.\n\nNice to have\nExperience in financial markets, exchanges, electronic trading or market infrastructure.\n\nExperience with FIX Protocol and market data/order entry protocols such as ITCH and OUCH.\n\nExposure to trading platforms, broker trading or similar financial market automation tools.\n\nExperience with Kubernetes, containers or cloud-native test execution environments.\n\nExperience with performance, resilience, failover or operational readiness testing.\n\nUse of Performance tools such as JMeter and Gatling.\n\nExperience with observability, monitoring or log-analysis tools used for test investigation.\n\nExposure to service virtualization, API mocking or test data automation.\n\nAgile delivery experience and experience working in CI/CD delivery teams.\n\nWe make hiring decisions based on your skills, capabilities and experience, and how you’ll help us to live our values.
