As an AWEI Bronze employer and member of the Champions of Change Coalition for gender equality, we’re committed to a fair and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.\nYour responsibilities:\nAct as a practitioner and active contributor within the Quality Engineering and Testing (QE&T) Capability Community of Practice.\nWork within cross-functional teams across Lines of Business to coordinate testing, automation and quality engineering activities.\nDesign tests through in-depth technical analysis of functional and non-functional requirements, specifications and solution architecture.\nPlan, execute and deliver testing across all relevant phases, including non-functional testing, while operating independently and collaboratively across delivery teams.\nDesign, build, maintain and enhance automation frameworks; code, verify, amend and refactor automated tests, scripts and reusable libraries.\nMaintain end-to-end traceability from tests to requirements and ensure supporting evidence is complete and auditable.\nSupport the Test Manager with test planning and with defining requirements for test environments, test data and tools.\nContribute to the selection of fit-for-purpose automation approaches, standards and tools, and apply them to achieve well-engineered outcomes.\nParticipate in reviews of your own work and lead peer reviews of colleagues’ automation assets and engineering practices.\nInterpret and execute complex test scenarios, analyse results, investigate failures and maintain accurate defect records.\nReport progress, system quality, test results, anomalies, risks and issues associated with projects and releases, supported by meaningful metrics.\nImplement and support the ASX Software Testing Policy and Guidelines within assigned work, tools and delivery contexts, maintaining relevant documentation.\nYour experience and qualifications\nMust have\nCloud and data platform testing\nExperience testing cloud and data platforms across AWS, Azure or GCP, with strong hands-on capability in AWS-hosted applications and data platforms.\nDesign and implement automated testing for data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, storage, reconciliation and consumption processes.\nValidate data quality, completeness, accuracy, timeliness, lineage and integrity across source and target systems.\nExperience validating AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Lake Formation, DataZone, DMS and MWAA, where applicable.\nExperience testing microservices, container-based solutions, batch pipelines and event-driven integrations.\nStrong experience with ETL solutions, Business Objects, databases, SQL scripting, test environments and releases.\nAutomation engineering\nExtensive automation experience using Python, Java or C#, including designing, building and maintaining scalable, reusable and reliable test automation frameworks.\nDevelop, verify, refactor and maintain automated test code and reusable libraries for functional, integration, API, data, regression and selected non-functional testing.\nEstablish and apply standards for automation framework design, coding, naming, peer review and maintenance.\nPerform peer reviews and provide technical guidance to engineers and delivery partners.\nCI/CD and quality feedback\nIntegrate automated test suites into GitLab or equivalent CI/CD pipelines to provide timely feedback during build, deployment and release processes.\nMaintain version-controlled test assets using appropriate branching, review and release practices.\nImprove automated execution reliability, speed, maintainability and diagnostic capability, and support shift-left testing across the software delivery lifecycle.\nTest strategy and planning\nAnalyse functional and non-functional requirements, solution designs and architecture to define appropriate test approaches.\nOwn and contribute to test strategies, plans, estimates, quality gates and delivery assurance activities.\nApply ASX Quality Engineering and Testing policies, standards and approved tools.\nContribute to the QE&T Community of Practice and identify improvements to testing methods, tools, automation patterns and engineering standards.\nStakeholder and delivery contribution\nWork within agile, cross-functional teams alongside engineering, architecture, business analysis, product, test and delivery management colleagues across ASX.\nCollaborate and communicate effectively with business and technology stakeholders to coordinate testing and clearly communicate progress, quality, risks and issues.\nNice to have\nExperience using AI to accelerate test automation or improve quality engineering processes.\nExperience with Cucumber, SpecFlow, Pytest and JUnit.\nExposure to non-functional testing, including performance, load and capacity testing, and automation using tools such as LoadRunner.\nCapital markets domain experience.\nExperience testing microservices and container-based architectures.\nKnowledge of messaging standards or protocols such as FpML, SWIFT or FIX.\nKnowledge of release management and test environment practices.\nExposure to regulatory and audit-driven delivery environments.\nA strong continuous-improvement mindset.\nWe make hiring decisions based on your skills, capabilities and experience, and how you’ll help us to live our values.
