Enterprise Risk Lead (RS)

Your New Role
In this contract until the end of December 2027 you will be reporting to the Senior Manager, Risk Strategy & Enablement. This is a flexible second line role with two key objectives. The main objective is supporting the leads of a range of risk and compliance initiatives owned by Group Risk within a larger global risk transformation program to help deliver the remaining key milestones within the implementation and embed phases. The second is supporting Group Risk departments by delivering essential business-as-usual activities while subject matter experts are engaged in the program.
Working across Group Risk (Enterprise Risk, Governance and Risk Advisory, Operational Risk, Enterprise Compliance, and Investments and Liquidity Risk Advisory), you will independently deliver priority work while partnering with subject matter experts and stakeholders across the three lines of accountability. The role offers variety, a supportive team environmentand the opportunity to strengthen risk outcomes across the Fund.
Key duties include but not limited to;
Execute key Line 2 business-as-usual activities and initiatives across Group Risk, including policy and standard reviews, risk reporting, risk assessments, controls testing, monitoring, assurance and incident management.
Support the implementation and embedment of risk transformation initiatives to embed the revised risk architecture, frameworks, reporting, and obligations management. This will include the use of GRC activities, conducting embed reviewsand delivering further training where required.
Creatively embed change by utilisingtools such as AI and engaging colleagues in a way that,builds understanding and supports successful adoption.
Prepare clear risk reporting for relevant forums, Board and Board committees, including the use and design of PowerBIreports.
Present and lead workshops, review risk-related documentsand influence stakeholders across Line 1 and Line 2.
Build strong stakeholder relationships, contribute to Group Risk priorities and role modelthe Fund’s values, Members First culture and desired risk culture.
What You’ll Need
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, lawor an industry-related field.
6-8+ years’ experience in risk management with a proven track record of success, ideally within financial services or another regulated industry.
Hold an accreditation in Risk Management from a recognisedbody like Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) or Governance Institute of Australia (GIA), orbe willing to obtain one after joining AustralianSuper.
Demonstrated ability to understand and translate external regulatory requirements to shape business outcomes
Experience using PowerBIreporting tool is a must.
Experience using a GRC tool
Excellent understanding of risk and controls management practices, relevant standards, superannuation processes and controls, and laws and regulations relating to Super and Financial Advice.
Hands-on experience across risk assessments, control assessments, incident management, risk appetite, risk monitoring, risk reporting, frameworks, control assurance activities and/or Internal Audit.
Excellent organisationalskills, with the ability to prioritiseand manage multiple deliverables.
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, supported by an innovative, curious and continuous improvement mindset.
