Full-Time\n\nSector: Oil & Gas Services\n\nLevel: Senior / Lead\n\nJob Summary\n\nWe are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership for the installation, operation, maintenance, reliability, and optimization of mechanical systems and equipment across our oil and gas service operations.\nThe successful candidate will lead engineering activities, supervise technical teams, ensure compliance with industry standards, and drive operational excellence while maintaining the highest safety standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nManage mechanical engineering projects from planning through execution and close-out.\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel.\nCoordinate with Operations, HSE, Procurement, Vendors, and Clients to ensure successful project delivery.\nEnsure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, engineering standards, and HSE requirements.\nConduct root cause failure analyses and develop sustainable solutions to recurring equipment issues.\nLead and supervise mechanical engineering, maintenance, and inspection activities across projects and operational sites.\nDevelop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to enhance equipment reliability and performance.\nSupport business development initiatives by providing technical input during bid preparation and project execution.\nMonitor equipment integrity, performance indicators, and maintenance KPIs to improve operational efficiency.\nParticipate in risk assessments, audits, and safety reviews.\nPrepare technical reports, budgets, engineering recommendations, and project updates for management.\nLead the installation, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation of mechanical equipment.\nReview and approve engineering designs, drawings, technical specifications, and maintenance procedures.\n\nQualifications and Experience\n\nCOREN registration and membership of relevant professional bodies (NSE or equivalent) will be an added advantage.\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, technical specifications, and engineering reports.\nStrong understanding of equipment reliability, maintenance management, and asset integrity principles.\nProven experience with pumps, compressors, turbines, valves, piping systems, pressure vessels, and other rotating/static equipment.\nExcellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nStrong knowledge of applicable industry standards including API, ASME, ISO, and relevant Nigerian regulatory requirements.\nBachelor's Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering.\nDemonstrated experience in project execution, commissioning, and equipment performance optimization.\n8-10 years' relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role within the oil and gas industry.\nWillingness to travel and work at project or client locations as required.\nAbility to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.\nProficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and engineering software tools.\n\nKey Competencies:\n\nProject Management and Coordination\nLeadership and Team Management\nDecision-Making and
