It may involve taking your toddler to the park, driving a stranger to the airport, running a half marathon, or exploring a new city for the first time.\nRole Overview\nAfter our recent launch in New York City, Throne is looking for several full-time Battery Technicians to join our team, reporting to the NYC Technical Operations Manager. You will be responsible for performing routine and emergency battery swaps across our fleet of self-contained restroom units, located in all 5 boroughs, as well as picking up batteries at our charging facility in New Jersey.\nThis role is scheduled on one of two overnight shifts: 6:00 pm - 2:30 am or 12:00 am - 8:30 am, with regular weekend rotations.\nNew hires in this role start at $30.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare, equity, and supplemental benefit rates that increase with tenure.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nBattery Swaps:\nPick up charged batteries from our charging facility in New Jersey\nDrive a box truck safely from the charging facility to Throne locations to perform battery swaps\nOperate an electric pallet jack and lift gate to load and unload batteries at the charging facility and at Throne sites\nMaintain accurate records of work performed, including documentation of repairs, replacements, and inspections\nReturn depleted batteries to the charging facility and ensure they are connected and charging safely at the end of each shift\nTeamwork with Technicians:\nUse your smartphone to navigate to sites, communicate with coworkers, and record work performed\nClean restroom units, remove trash, restock supplies, as needed\nAlert the technical team to any observed issues or needed repairs\nMaintain fleet vehicles by keeping them clean and organized, flagging needed repairs for management\nMinimum Qualifications\nA minimum of 3 years of experience in driving or delivery.\nValid driver's license with a clean driving record.\nSome experience battery swapping is preferred, but not required.\nDemonstrated ability to use tools and equipment properly and safely.\nStrong troubleshooting skills with the ability to escalate issues as needed.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.\nFlexibility to work overnight and on weekends.\nAbility to regularly lift up to 50 lbs\nCan-do attitude and passion for Throne’s mission\nPreferred Qualifications\nKnowledge of testing procedures for electrical components, including voltage, continuity, and current tests.\nExperience driving a 26’ truck throughout NYC.\nExperience using a work order system.\nBenefits\nMedical, dental, and vision insurance, with medical options that are 100% employer-paid\nEquity for all US-based positions, so you share in Throne’s growth\n$30/month cell phone stipend\nCompany vehicle provided for business use\nDaily access to earned wages\n401(k) plan\nPaid time off that grows with tenure, in addition to paid sick time and paid parental leave\nLife insurance, AD&D coverage, and short and long-term disability insurance\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)\nBenefits offered to full-time and part-time employees may vary by state.\nThrone is a proud Equal Opportunity Employer, and we are committed to pursuing and hiring a diverse workforce.
